Do yourself a favor and quit while you're ahead. Don't be stupid like Father Vincent and me... Be smart, don't start!
Find a good book to read. Doesn't it tell you something when you have been stuck on the same page for a week or so?

Crazy! Judas, I'm reading IT right now as well. I'm on like page 400. Lot's of book left. There are definitely some slower passages, but the good stuff makes it worth it. I just remembered being scared watching the movie when I was younger so I figured I would make a go of it.

Up to Interesting Times in my Discworld addiction and I don't intend on stopping anytime soon. It's good to see Rincewind again, and I like the setting: an echo of ancient Imperialist China, in an empire comprised of five feuding kingdoms: Hong, Sung, Fang, Tang and McSweeney.

Reading the Ramayana online, it's almost as beautiful as my girl. I tried to read the egyptian book of the dead, but it's too annoying with all the translation notes interrupting

I'm finishing up The Guns of the South. It figures the only way the Confederacy could win was by cheating... MoNoChrome: What's your favorite tale? Vaan-Knight: When you're done, consider reading the Upanishads "From the unknown, lead me to the known. From the unreal, lead me to the real"

Ok ok I will admit it! A littlw hile back when there was a huge snow storm and I had run out of things to read...I picked up my roommates copy of Harry Potter and then ended up reading all of them. Faster than I have read anything else before. And I loved it! It was wonderful. Ok. I feel better.

I've found the SHF to be a pretty good source of recommendation for books. So when I saw Vaco Deus's post in another thread mentioning Paul Neilan's Apathy and Other Small Victories I figured, "If someone on SHF says it's their favorite book ever, that's good enough for me." So I got it. Discworld series aside, this is the funniest book I've ever read. And definitely one of the best.

I actually rather liked IT. But I digress.
Reading Agents of Artiface by Ari Marmell. It's a Planeswalker novel, set in the Magic the Gathering universe. It's actually pretty good so far.

Choke is my favorite Palahniuk book... How did you like it? I've been dying to get Jordan to do a "See also:" gag but haven't been able to work it in yet

Speaking of Chuck Palahniuk, I just started reading Fight Club. It's one of three of his books that I found in the Free Books bin at the library. The others were Invisible Monsters and Survivor, both of which I have yet to read but definitely will.
