Hope no one objects to the making of this particular thread. It's similar to the old favourite "What are you listening to right now?" thread, but it's obviously to post which movie/DVD you have seen most recently. I watch a lot, and I'm always looking to be inspired by others' recommendations also, so post yours too. No tv shows though, please, just movies Most recent DVD I've seen was actually a few weeks ago, and it was called Paris Je T'aime. Yes it is subtitled, but it's a nice little collection of stories about all sorts of different people living in Paris. Love stories, quirky stories, sad stories etc. It's the most different movie I've seen in a while, and most definitely worth a watch. Link here: www.imdb.com/title/tt0401711/

No! I object on a massive level to your shameless thread creation!! We want bare boards you hear me!! !BAAAAAAAARE!! <_< Anyhoo, last dvd i watched was Midnight Meat Train. I was rather sceptical at first as i had read the graphic novel short story yeeeeeeeears back and despite loving it to bits, i could not figure how it could be made movie-length without some huge changes. Well, it had a great many massive changes, and all seemed to work decently and probably made the movie far more accessible to those less versed in Barkers bits. And suprisingly Vinnie Jones did his role justice imo. The effects were a tad iffy in a few too many places, but the spirit made up for it imo. Niiice cameo by Ted Raimi too, people should see this movie if just for his scene.

Fargo.
I've had it on DVD for years but only ever watched it the once because the Minnesota accent annoyed me so much. But, I decided to give it another go and thought it was fairly decent second time around.

Latest movie I've seen was Pineapple Express ... what a dumb movie ... and yet ... it's fucking hilarious ... it's basically a movie about two crackheads getting themselves way over their heads (nothing new there) but it certainly has it's dumb as shit moments Quarantine ... I watched that a while back ... it's pretty good as long as you haven't seen .... Cloverfield .... if you have then in my humble opinion I think you should skip Q ... not just because of the same style used to shoot the movie ... but because of the same feel to Q as to Cloverfield (I personally was not caught by the "scares" the movie offered simply because it was easily guessed ) But all in all ... Q is a nice movie ... a great DVD rent IMO

Borrowed Black Snake Moan off my best friends ex on a whim. Turned out to be pretty damn good. A non overly complicated story of redemption in a small town. There's a lot of women like the main character where I live unfortunately.
Also, Hellboy II as well a few days ago. Miles above the first one which was kinda balls I thought. There's some amazing imagery akin to a Beksinski painting or Pan's Labyrinth (big surprise there). Not to mention it was just entirely badass. I really enjoyed it.
Also watched Live Free Die Hard recently. I was surprised how good that one was too. Wasn't completely mindless, just mostly. The concept of the 'Fire Sale' is something I've always enjoyed so to see it in 'action' in a completely insane movie was rather awesome.
Haven't been watching too many movies lately since I have movie ADD when I watch them by myself. Get too restless and it takes me sometimes 6 hours or days to watch one movie.
