F-ING EILEEN. I swear, stupid AI is stupid. She was too slow, I know she was injured and all but they could have made her a little faster or at least have Henry drag her around.

I think Henry dragging her around would only make him slower x D

I really liked it. I'd rather they took a fresh new angle on the Silent Hill universe than run out of proper ideas and start trying to just make stories that arent ridiculous, instead of making stories that are great. Eileen wasn't too fast, but at least she fought back unlike Maria who just stood there and shuffled a bit. Maybe it wasn't a game for everyone, but I've thought long and hard about it and provided your open minded enough it can be really enjoyable.

Silent Hill 4 reminded Resident Evil games a little, this game is pretty cool... it bringed more "action" to the SH Series who was all about running around, doing puzzles and stuff like that (wich is cool too).... I don't liked the thing about some ghosts in SH4, let's see... The apartment, i wish we could check out things like the old SH's without these fucker's attacking us.... they're annoying... The only ghosts that deserve a nice review are the ones that you fight like "bosses" (Cynthia, Jasper, Andrew and Richard) About Eileen, well she kill the monster pretty fast if you equip her with the chain and keep hitting the monsters too, the only thing that sucked was the running, she's too slow... I was trying to finish this game again but i kept dying on the forest (2nd time) because of her and Walter's fucking handgun.... grrrrrrrr!

I think that Sh4 was a great entry to the Sh series!
Positive: -Storyline was amazing -The apartment -Some gameplay changes (like analog movements) -Walter -OST -Graphics (the modeling of the characters is almost perfect)
Negative -Ghosts not going down (while i like the ghosts, i hate that they are imortal) -Backtracking -Walter pursuing us -Graphics in open areas worse than sh3 (altough i dont think they are worse, just different) -Lack of creepyness (it could have less light, more dark)

While SH4 isn't my favourite of the series it definitely isn't bad. The only thing that annoys me is the constant running away from ghosts. Especially when you're in an enclosed space, for example in the apartment block you don't get a chance to look around for items, it's just grab what you can and run.

SH4 is my least favorite in the series, hands down. However, as I just implied, I do include it in the series, mostly because of the fact that Walter Sullivan was mentioned in SH2, so it's not as if his story came out of nowhere and was just thrown into the SH universe.
My reasons for not liking it have a lot more to do with the fact that you can't actually destroy most of the enemies and the controls were just incredibly irritating for me. I have no idea how many times I ran from an enemy, only to suddenly turn around and run right into that same enemy because the screen and camera angle changed and 'W' is always forward from your perspective as the viewer (on PC). I hated that with a passion. It screwed me up so many times.
I also hated that you could only save by going back to your apartment and the more often you did that the worse your apartment got until it was killing you. As a busy mom, I frequently have to drop my game on a second's notice. Since leaving it running on my computer for what might turn out to be hours on end is really not financially feasible for me, not being able to save whenever and wherever I want is a real hassle (which is a complaint I have with Origins and Homecoming as well).

i can understand the whole saving thing (my only prob with sh2 was very few saves) i have a job that could cause me to be sitting one moment and gone the next . as for Sh4 not a bad game but ITS NOT A SILENT HILL GAME. its creepy, its nice, it has cool monsters, and it has the demented feel but its not silent hill becuase ITS NOT IN SILENT HILL! other than that the game was very nice (the burping nurses were the funniest thing that any "silent hill" game has ever had".

I think I'm just about to finish SH4 for the first time! I played before, but ended up not caring if I played through or not. I decided a couple days ago to give it another run. Honestly, I have been extremely frustrated and annoyed. I'm not big on recycling locations, and I swear I almost murdered someone when it turned out that I needed to put a stupid stuffed cat in the cage to start a clock and flip a room. I mean FUCK! Are you serious!? How are those things even connected!?!?!?! AHHHHH!!! I wasted hours of my life I will never get back. I also wish there was a way you could tell Eileen to "stay here" or something. And those Whitestools!!! F! There are definitely strong points however and I will not say I hate the game. I guess I'll have to wait till I finish to give a compete perception. Anywho... I hope I didn't offend any die hard SH4'ers. ;D

I also wish there was a way you could tell Eileen to "stay here" or something. Just run away from her like mad, if possible on a wide open space. She'll never make it to you, and you exit the room, and voila, you're Eileen free! Of course, she gets all psycho if you leave her for too long. -.-

I forget, does the way you treat Eileen affect which ending you get?

I forget, does the way you treat Eileen affect which ending you get? Unfortunately, yes. The worse her condition, the faster she goes to the spinning-death-trap-of-doom-thingamajigger during the last battle. If she dies, say bye bye to good endings.
