Yeah, I think Konami's conference is tomorrow.
I hope they announce a Metal Gear game for the PS3 (besides Rising)
Regarding PW: Since it takes place in 1974, and the les enfants terribles occured in 1972, I imagine the Patriots will take center stage again....?

I'm hoping its going to be more of a fall from grace kind of story. The moment Big Boss 'changes' or Goes to far. I probably need to Read threw the MG encyclopedia, or replay Guns of the Patriots again to make a more accurate guess. Hope its more of a personal story, with maybe a little more Young Ocelot involved too. saying that now makes me wonder, did Python survive PO officaly or not.
edit: Oh, and i just remembered something else MGS related, apparently someone saw a file on one of the demo PSPgo systems on the show floor that had a certain PSclassic game on it. So it might not be far from release on the system. infact, the PSN is probably being updated one a day while the show is on with new trailers, and FF VII came out today, tomorrow we migth see MGS on the PSN released announced at the Konami conference.

Big Boss never came across as 'gone too far' to me. He was doing what he thought was right
Snake Eater revealed that his mentor, knowing full well that she was being used for selfish reasons, died for the country she loved. This is the point Big Boss saw how selfish the American government really was and turned his back on it.
Peace Walker will prolly fill the gaps between the gaps when he roams the world recruiting soldiers for his nationless army to his rebelling against the Patriots for them cloning him without his knowledge
Big Boss seemed like the bad guy from the information we were provided (from the Patriots we discover in retrospect). Just like Solidus and Liquid. All were trying to get rid of the shadow society that had their own interests, not the nations, in mind.
Won't get this game as I don't have a PSP, but it'll be interesting to see what the plot reveals

I'm pretty excited for both games. I still need to play Portable Ops and the original two MG games. I do know the story to the originals though.
You can lump me in with the people who would KILL for remakes of the originals though. I understand the aspects of moving forward rather than backwards. However, the games are pretty much two decades old and on the original Nintendo.
They should just remake both of them as one game though. It'd be fantastic to have the entire MG series in modern day graphics and it'd give Kojima an opportunity to flesh out the story properly.

TGS has brough a demo for Peace Walker. get it here . Been playing it for a little just now, Feels a bit more like Snake Eater then Portable Ops. Controls take a little getting use to, but i think i can live with them. Though, you don't seem to be able to move once your pressed up against something.

Though i'd put this here instead of making another MGS thread, Peace Walker has a Japanese date March 18. Not english language release mentioned yet, but considering how close some of the last dates have been (MGS4 had a world wide date). PSP owners should be playing this befor the end of March.

over two months different, i think i saw the Pal release yesterday too, it was about the same time as the US one. Kinda glad. There's alot of games coming out this march, if a new metal gear were to come out, they wouldn't be getting the attention they deserve.

Wow May 25th seems so soon. Metal Gear games are usually games I don't even bother thinking about 'when' they're coming out. They just do when they do. So that's really awesome. I'm glad the series is continuing.
I wish Kojima would stop saying they're his last games though.

We'll peace walker is out in Japan, and a odd little story popped up over at Kotaku. PW for PS3 anyone? I don't trust Gamepro much as a news source, but it'll be interesting to see if anything becomes of the idea.

Doesn't look bad. I like the water melon chopping, but it better not be a case that you can tear down the rest of the town, except for the table thats got watermelon on it. That would just piss me off.

I really want to play this. I don't own a 360 though. Maybe in the future oh sighz.
Knowing them, they'll claim it's an exclusive and then 6 months later release a 'special edition' on every other system on the planet.

Ahh my bad. Wasn't it originally a 360 exclusive? I thought I read that ages ago. This is good news to me obviously.
