Hola, SHF! This thread is to tell us about which rumored or in development games you are looking forward to in the upcoming year or so. Give us the name and system and maybe a release date and tell us why you're so freaking excited for it! For me right now, it's Persona 3 for PSP. On PS2, it easily snuck it's way onto my top 10 list and now it's being ported with features that were in Persona 4 such as controlling all team members and part-time jobs. You can also play as a girl. The game is coming out early July. P3 seems perfect graphically and stylistically for the PSP screen, and this version could enhance a game that's already amazing. Here's hoping.

Super Street Fighter IV (PS3). It's fucking Street Fighter. IV was one of the absolute best fighting games ever made, possibly even THE best. Super brings in new stages, new costumes a new Ultra for each character and a whopping TEN new characters to play. Also a host of new online features. I'm a DIE HARD SF fan, and this is like one giant, body quaking orgasm about to rock my world. Most all of my friends are SF vets too, so you can bet it's gonna be awesome.
Monster Hunter Tri (Wii). More love from Capcom so close to SSFIV? You bet. Also a big fan of this series, been playing since the release of the PS2 original years back. Over the years I've talked a few friends into the series, and they've also found it really enjoyable. Plus the online play of the game is free in the US (Despite not being so in Japan.)
Lost Planet 2 (PS3). Hot damn! Even more love from Capcom, also very close to SSFIV! Gonna be busy as hell. The online mulitplayer in this game is excellent, if the demo was any indication. And the level of player customization is staggering.
World of Warcraft: Cataclysm (PC). What can I say here? I'm a longtime (Nearly 4 years and counting) WoW addict and this expansion not only looks totally awesome but is changing more than possibly both of the other two expansions combined together. New level cap, new professions, new dungeons, new heroic dungeons, new gear, new class/race combination and most importantly, new playable races. But on top of all this the basic entire world of Azeroth is changing drastically. It's gonna be HUGE.

Fallout: New Vegas (PS3) C'mon, its Fallout!! I've logged countless hours in the DC Wastes (and the Pitt, Point Lookout, Anchorage, and the Mothership) and I still find myself itching to go back. Its just an immersive and engaging world
Dead Rising 2 (PS3) The first game made me consider getting a 360 but I decided against it. Now with a sequel announced across both platforms I can say this is a purchase for me day one with how everyone gushed about the first. In a Las Vegas setting and able to render thousands of zombies on screen at once I can't wait to pick up my Paddle-Saw and go to town on the undead
Final Fantasy Versus XIII (PS3.....for now) With FFXIII released and myself ranking it in my top 5 Final Fantasy's I'm excited to see what this new installment's lineage will produce. With the central mythos of the Fabula Nova Crystallis established, and a realistic setting revealed, I want to destroy my enemies as soon as possible. Oh, and the battle system is based off of Kingdom Hearts, whats not to like?

Hmm, good point Vaco, I forgot about New Vegas and Dead Rising 2. Yes I'm pining over those as well. I LOOOOOVED the first DR, one of my all time favorites actually, at least in the top 20.
And what more needs to be said about Fallout? Obsidian taking over has a bit of concern from me, but hell, I still like them. I liked Neverwinter Nights 2 pretty well. My first impression of Fallout 3 was pretty damn good, but I ended up trading it in for some stupid reason. When I picked the game back up not too long ago I realized the error of that decision and have been thoroughly enjoying the game since. Possibly even tipping the scales between FO3 and Oblivion for me in which I prefer. (A hard task.)
So now I'm concerned how much will change for the game I've grown to absolutely cherish. I'm worried things will be too different and ruin it for me. I know it's stupid...but anyway yeah, I'm looking forward to it none the less.

Final Fantasy versus XIII (PS3) Digging the character design, setting and what little has been revealed about the story. And the whole 'modern' fantasy business is interesting, and pretty different. Having not played XIII, i'm not all filled in with the Fabula Nova Crytallis. Plus its from the Kingdom Hearts team, they've made some neat games.
Dead Rising 2 (360/PS3)
Loved the first one, Lotta fun. Think it might play a little better if they dropped the Resident Evil gun controls. Considering the mass number of enemies, being able to walk and shoot at the same time should only have a minimal effect on the survival/horror action.
Sam and Max, Season 3 : The Devils Playhouse Love me some sam and max. Improved graphics, Psychic powers, Max. Pointing and clicking. all good.
Metal Gear Solid : Peace Walker I'm obligated as a card carrying Metal Gear Fan to say this, but to be honest, they need to learn when to leave well enough alone. Stop trying to add more to the Stories of Solid/Naked Snake and Raiden, and Start a fresh with a new Snake and a new cast. I'll still buy anything they slap the metal gear logo on though. cause i'm a sucker.
Other notable mentions are Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, Last Guardian, Splinter Cell Conviction, LA noir, and Mirrors Edge 2.

Totally agree with you Pac on the MGS notion. But the demo to Peace Walker was pretty sweet, much improved over Portable Ops. I forgot about this one too. Looking forward to it as well.
L.A. Noir also looks amazing. Kinda looking forward to Red Dead Redemption too.

Final Fantasy XIII - My 20th birthday is coming up, and my parents said they'll buy it for me. 3D Dot Game Heroes - OH GAWD I LOVE IT. <3 Bayonetta - I need her. Bad. (Yes, I know it came out, I still need it though.) Anything from ATLUS - Seriously. Anything. Instant hype.

@pac
The mythos of FNC just revolves around crystals and how they drive humanity forward. FFXIII and FFvXIII are only connected by mythos.
Different world Different characters
In FFXIII the crystals were divine godlike beings that helped humanity (and occasionally tasks humans with missions to help the fal'Cie). One fal'Cie provided energy to Cocoon, one provided sunlight, and another food. A Pulse fal'Cie tunnels underground for mining purposes, and another creates new species of beasts.
While in FFvXIII their purpose really hasn't been explained. Just that Noctis' kingdom has the last crystal in the world while every other kingdom lost theirs to war and greed

Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands (X360/PS3/Wii) May 18, 2010 ... just because I LOVE the PoP series that was on the PS2 and this one looks like it's going back to it's roots of platforming and slashing hordes of enemies with a little extra of elemental abilities(?)
Fallout: New Vegas (X360/PS3/PC) Q3 2010 ... I played the shit out of my F3goty edition and I still switch it on once in a while to goof around, awesome game
Dead Rising 2 (X360/PS3/PC) August 31, 2010 ... c'mon ... killing hundreds of zombies on screen at any given point with anything from a cashier to a makeshift canoe paddle with strapped on mini-chainsaws while riding a freaking bike? SOLD
Dead Space 2 (X360/PS3/PC) Q1 2011 ... I don't care if it's going to be more action-y than the first, I still loved it and probably will love it anew
NIER (X360/PS3) April 27, 2010 ... this one looks awesome despite all the comments about poor graphics. It looks like DMC at first glance but they say it's partly RPG which only makes me that much happier.
I'm positive I've missed a few titles that I've gone "OMFG, ME WANT" over but that's all that comes to mind right now

Final Fantasy Versus XIII. I'm not a fan of KH, just played a little bit of the second game, but this one seems interesting.
Uncharted 2. I have yet to play it.
Uh, that's it really. That I know of.

The Witcher 2 - Probably the most important reason to upgrade my PC.
Halo Reach - Can´t wait to play the Campaign. I don´t really care for the multiplayer part.
Deus Ex 3 - Loved the first one when it came out for Mac/PC. The PS2 port wasn´t as enjoyable due to hardware limitations, and I don´t really know why I didn´t liked the second game, but I still have hope for the series.
The Last Guardian - I don´t need any additional hype; as long as I see Team Ico makes a game set in the same kind of universe, I will buy it.

Metal Gear Solid: Rising (X360/PS3) That's the only one right now. Not so much news about it though...
EDIT: Forgot to put Alan Wake.
But anyway, I thought this was only about the new upcoming games... Well, I don't have many games but I wanna play a lot of the ones that came "ages ago", like Mass Effect 1 and 2, Call of Duty MW2, Borderlands, Dante's Inferno and others...

Games I look forward to playing when I have the time is more like it, which include the following: - Uncharted 1 and 2
- Demon Souls
- Final Fantasy 13
- CoD MW2
- (more) Heavy Rain
- (finishing) Psychonauts
- The Witcher
- Xenogears
- Silent Hill Homecoming and Shattered Memories
- Fallout 3
Of games coming out: - Deus Ex 3 (If this even mildly disappoints, heads will roll)
- WoW: Cataclysm
- Persona 5
- Metroid: Other M (Ditto)
- Dragon Quest 9
- Valkyria Chronicles 2 (still think it should have been a PS3 sequel instead of a PSP one)
- Portal 2
- Arkham Asylum 2
- Starcraft 2
If I like Fallout 3, I'll be getting New Vegas as well. As far as the MGS titles go, the story ended with MGS4 for me, and while I kinda want to play Peacewalker and Rising, it'll just never be the same. To comment on Deus Ex 2, I think it didn't live up to the first one because it felt too contemporary instead of timeless (terrorism and global control instead of the classic cyberpunk question of "what defines us as human?"), and actually cutting down on the customization, design, etc. as a whole just so it could be ported to consoles really hurt it too.

I'm in agreement with about half of Alone's list, a couple of which I hadn't even known were going to exist (Arkham Asylum 2!)
