Lol, why? Do you have a hot daughter on Facebook?

No, no daughters or sons or younger family to speak of who could bring any sort of embarrassment that I'm aware of. My remark was more for the satisfaction of knowing I don't have to watch people walk themselves into painful situations like this. That's one of the cons of social networking sites where people personally know who you are: you type something that can come back at you, it can become too late very fast to undo the act.

Yeah, that's why you have to watch what you say, just like in the outside world. You never know who will repeat what to whom.

Exactly. The only difference is that people treat online socialising as if it has no effect with anything on the outside.
For instance, I knew this one person who was overly enthusiastic about jumping into the middle of conversations and derailing them with child-like actions. Then they didn't get how people were starting to distance themselves.
It's not something I need to be involved in. At least in a forum I don't have the 24/7 risk of doom behind every meaning.

Funnily enough, I'm actually currently doing a senior group project in school on how Facebook has changed the face of communication in various aspects of society, such as business, legal, medical, etc. I'm actually in the library right now, working with my group partners on our final research paper and presentation that we'll be giving this week (and chatting on SHF while I'm at it, lol).
One of our topics of discussion is how many college students don't think twice about posting personal information on Facebook, and how employers are checking prospective applicants' Facebook accounts to see what kind of people they are.

It's moments like those that make me happy to have gotten rid of my Facebook. This. Also reminds me why I don't post many photos of myself online, and nothing I wouldn't want my parents/grandparents to see, because you just never know. Still, LOL.
