That latest bit of news it taken a bit out of context, the article dosent even seem to say who the quotes from. If i remember correctly, its the producer that said that. But i don't think we've heard enough about it yet. Be curious to see where they go next. Do they adapt Silent Hill 2 or do they make a sequel to the first film?

I believe they're making a sequel. They also said they intend on making it a bit more accessible for the audience.
No idea what that means, but anything anyone says that has to do with the Silent Hill series will get trashed before they even know anything about it.

More accessible? That's a bad omen if ever I heard.

It seems like they tried to make a good movie but conflicts within the team and the board of film mish mashed it up.
Until they release a trailer I'm not going to make any comment. It's still to early. I've still never seen a perfect game to film adaptation though. Silent Hill 2 won't be any different.

Damn. I had this pipe dream of graduating and making it to L.A. before they made a sequel. So I could work on it. Oh well. I'm sure it will be...well..you know...

More accessible to the audience may mean more action and a less thought provoking storyline. In other words, traditional and predictable horror film.
I honestly can't blame them if this is true. Most none Silent Hill fans must have been baffled after watching it.

Hmm, in a way SH2 was more accessible in terms of storytelling, as they give you the most important part of the story towards the end. However, the pacing was slower than the first game, oftentimes giving you periods where there was a few minutes of just running or waiting. So, if more accessible means having the story of the second game with the pacing of the first game, I wouldn't mind that so much because that could mean a pretty enjoyable movie. ...It probably doesn't mean that though.
