Yeah, probably right. Still If they are finishing the 2012/Desmond Storyline next year, It means they should be starting a whole new story line the next year, with a New Ancestor in the Animus. If they choose to keep up with the Sci-Fi story line. Read through the Achievments, and i suspect you won't be able to freely leave the animus like you did in AC and Brotherhood. I suspect the games going to feel more like 2, where your forced out of Desmonds story over to Ezio/Altairs and vice versa. If thats the case, i'm a little dissapointed. I really liked getting out of the animus and stretching my legs, Staring at Lucy (in the original, anyway)

You'll be able to leave the Animus in a sense.
I think it was Kotaku who ran a preview. They were playing and they paused the menu and there was an option called Animus Island and it switched from Ezio to Desmond on a surreal island with white sand. A Ubisoft employee then came over and took the controller out of the players hands.
I want to know who currently has Desmonds body. Templars or Assassins.
Remember a discussion from a previous thread about the mysterious red footsteps outside of Sanctuary in Brotherhood?
My personal theory was since red indicated enemies I theorized that someone within the Assassin cell was working for the templars. I went with everyone (Lucy, Rebecca, Shaun) because if Desmond thinks he's amongst friends he's more likely to do what they ask. Plus it'd be a better twist.
Anywho, turns out the real answer is less than exciting.
During development testers were having trouble getting back to Sanctuary so they put the footsteps in their as a trail of breadcrumbs as it were....and they spaced on the fact red meant enemies.
So, yeah, there goes my whole theory.

We'll that's disappointing ... or a red herring. I was reading on a Assassins Creed wiki about the Da'Vinchi Dissaperance, and they seemed to suggest that the one's that have Desmond are the ones emailing Des during the events of Brotherhood.
Glad to hear you'll be able to jump back and forth at will.

The old saying if you want to hide something put it in plain sight is very true. This was on IGNs YouTube AccountCould be Subject 16 but it's not Cam Clarkes (SNAAAAAKE!!!!) voice. Another theory is it's Daniel Cross which, according to the AC Wiki was Subject 4 but is alive so S16 is more likely. Is it me or does he seem....hostile. I have a theory: Could the man (who could be S16 or not) be trying to take over Desmond's body and escape the animus? There is a trophy named "Are You Desmond Miles?" and it seems like after Desmond is revived it would be a question he would be asked because of the Bleeding Effect; kind of like a normal question of today like what year is it, it'd be a baseline to see if he thinks he's an reliving his ancestors memories or not

I saw that while ago when IGN posted articles on the playable characters of Revelations. Don't ask me why i was reading IGN, or still read IGN. Cause i don't know.
I think my initial reaction was that it could be 16, and from what we've experienced in the past 2 games, he'd make the most sense for a character to be IN the animus with Desmond. Cross could be a interesting twist, bringing in the Comics in line with the Games (As i understand, Cross story takes place in the early 2000. So there's several years un-accounted for in the story. He may well be dead, or just have spent too much time in the Animus that he's left a imprint on it, much like the bleeding effect in reverse. Not long now though, what, a little over a week?

Today. Been checking out reviews, Sounds like they've tried to do something different with Desmonds levels. I'm hearing things along the line of a them being first person platform sections, but they are optional. That could make things difficult/annoying if you have to be at certain points in the game to play through them. Anywho, i've got someone picking up my Animus edition for me, so when i get home in 6 1/2 hours, i can dig into the game. Edit: Might just be me, but the game seems to load alot more then the past games. And since its out, Spoiler tags should be filling up the place too.

We'll that was anti-climatic.
It's probably the Assassins Game i've most enjoyed since the First one. Part of that might be because Ezio wasn't on another Freaking Revenge quest through out the game, and part of it might have been Altairs involvement in the story. that said, it might also be one of the weaker games in the series too. I'd have liked more parts from Altair. Hell, i'd have liked more parts with the characters that Mater, or seem to to me. Desmond, 16, the crew out side of the animus, there's very little for them in them in the game. I'm strugling to see the importance of Ezio in the great scheam of things. He's first introduced in the hopes Desmond will become an Assassin more quickly, then we got all the Minerva stuff. Fair start. Then we had Brotherhood, that seems to me to have largely been a waste of time with the exception of the Desmond bits... I dunno what i'm getting at here. Game's a bit buggy, I've had a couple of times where enemies/characters would spawn around me, and things only appear when your meters away from them. And a few points where you couldn't climb things that you seemingly should have, cause around the corner you could climb that window. This annual schedule is effecting the quality of the series, and I'd say the only reason we didn't see that in brotherhood is because apparently Chunks of Roma had been left out of AC2. If they are going to peruse this line for the series, they should take a page out of activisions book and have Multiple studio's working on separate entries in the series. Away from the Desmond storyline. Maybe have them intersect in some respect. That would allow nearly a 2 year turn around on titles, developing the story and environment. Love to see a game set in Asia, with the Assassin introduced in Embers. Also, Hat Trick Post!

I beat it some time ago but school (and Skyrim and Saints Row....thats alot of S's) have kept me busy.
Typical AC cliffhanger although it was the first one that caused me to scream at my TV.
Seeing as how Desmond is now the primary star I wonder if they'll bother with the Animus but thats kinda the hook. Thats like taking away the guns from a COD game.
I was hoping to see Ezio go out in a blaze of glroy but given his Assassin life its a luxury few of his kind gets so it was nice to see how it ended in Embers.
I really liked Animus Island and wish Desmond and Clay (Subject 16) had more interaction with one another although their final scene together gave me chills. Also learning of Desmonds past was done really well, Nolan Norths voice acting was really good in the first person sequences.
re: Clay I thought my original theory of him trying to steal Desmonds body was going to come true at one point because he asked if he could come with. I still think it would've been an interesting plot.
Overall, no complaints other than combat is still easy.
The thing I've stated I love about AC's story (tying real life instances, and real life mysteries into the Assassin/Templar War and the 1st Civilization) came true again at the end when Jupiter said that after the Solar Flare there were only 10,000 humans left which 'explains' the evolutionary bottleneck that happened in the past.
Just like the explosion over Tunguska or the Philadelphia experiment.
Again, overall decent games
7/10
Didn't blow me away but didn't disappoint me either

To quote Mal from Firefly Its a burdon being right so often. It late December people found audio files on the game disc pertaining to possible single player DLC. My theory about Lucy (or possibly the entire group) being Templar agents seems to be on the money. I remember on Animus Island being 2 or 3 cracked portals that were still empty even after collecting all the Animus Fragments. The new dialogue suggests that we may be reliving Subject 16s (Clay Kaczmarek) memories. Here is a summary of the new dialogue: -Alot of new dialogue by Clay -Clay's father expressing worry over Clay not finishing college, -Vidic talking to Clay -Adam and Eve, -Bill Miles telling Clay how to be captured by Abstergo and Lucy will let him have access to the Animus without Vidic's knowledge -Exact Vidic Quote "Lucy, this is where your background will come into play. If our experiments in the Animus with Desmond aren't going well you will remove him from Abstergo. Take him somewhere he will feel comfortable divulging his secrets. Your Assassin's should do the trick."-Various people talking about / to Alan Rikkin, CEO of Abstergo Industries -Vidic talking about the Satellite launch -Vidic talking about Desmond will be going through Abstergo's email and how Lucy's coded messages to the Assassin's will go though unimpeded -Bill Miles inducting Lucy into the Assassins -Bill Miles wanting to go to the new Italy facility Abstergo has built -Vidic saying Desmond will lead them to the Apple and she has to steal it The fact that Ubisoft had the content pulled from YouTube give credibility. I hope they release this soon. It'd be an amazing piece of DLC Here is the audio file www.multiupload.com/D7TZH2HB2GAfter about the 10 minute mark the audio starts to repeat

I'll be psyched for some single player DLC, especially if it features more Clay. I was so dissapointed that he only showed up like, 3 times during the game and then he was gone. Though i do wonder how they'll work. Also, I totally read that as Alan Rickman, CEO of Abstergo.
Then again, this is another case of on disk DLC I'll be disappointed. I suppose they could say having it already on the disk is a way to prevent having to pay the actors for the DLC performances.

HA! I love the idea of Alan Rickman as CEO. Board Meetings would be phenomenal.
I hope its a larger DLC considering its the revelations that Revelations was supposed to be about. Oddly enough there is no Lucy dialogue. Maybe Clay overhears this stuff.....?
It'd be nice change of pace to play as Clay. From the dialogue it sounds like it'll take place mostly in the real world but there are some foreign language (probably Italian) so there'll be some Animus action.
I kind of had a feeling they'd do SP DLC. Rather, I hoped they would. I only touched the MP for the trophies. AC is meant to be story heavy ACII had Sequences 13/14 and Brotherhood had the Da Vinci Disappearance.
I'm no fan of DLC but AC is one of the series I will buy the DLC for (the others being Fallout and Dead Space)
I'm excited

New SP DLC inbound! The achievments were synced to Microsoft's servers From the looks of things it'll be some 1st person sequences and some possible normal gameplay (From Desmond or Clay it's hard to say given the descriptions) Here is a link to my post from another forum Kinda hard

I'd assume you were going to say something like it would be kinda hard to put a new ezio segment in the game. because of the way the game ended. It would make sense to have another character, like Clay or another 'assassin' in the role.
