I'm working on Franz Kafka's The Trial, so I can finally understand the meaning of the word Kafkaesque, in order to use it in everyday conversation.

Chuck Amuck by Chuck Jones (the famed Warner Bros. animator).
So far, it's a delight. I practically worshiped him when I wanted to be a cartoonist.

Watchmen - Alan Moore, Art by Dave Gibbons (i had a borders voucher, and they had about a dozen copies on shelf). Suprisingly, i haven't found it over hyped in the least. Directed by Steven Spielberg - Warren Buckland

Hannibal the Cannibal <3 Red dragon. The first, old movie for it sucked so I'm going into the book with heavy judgment.

Good one! A bit of trivia- the device used in the trial (to enscribe the crime) makes a cameo in Shadow of the Torturer I'm working on Franz Kafka's The Trial, so I can finally understand the meaning of the word Kafkaesque, in order to use it in everyday conversation. Right now I'm reading the Belgariad again but I should be doing art for the game @phv: Red Dragon is by far the best book Harris ever wrote IMHO. A full third of the book is devoted to the pathology of a serial killer. Talk about sympathy for the devil...

Red Dragon is a fantastic book, so, also is Hannibal, which in the film version they completely destroyed the ending of. Enjoy I've just finished Stephen King's "Cell", a story about a virus that is spread to humans via cellphone, that turns them into some kind of "zombies". So good, such a light, easy read that was almost impossible to put down. I was gutted when it finished!

Some of you may remember my unending Terry Pratchett kick. Now sixteen Discworld novels (alongside other books of course) and still going strong. Currently on Soul Music. Also reading Mark Z. Danielewski's Only Revolutions. Classic MZD with a uniquely written, multilayered story and nifty little tricks with the text. Now if only he'd have The Thousand Year Sword mass-produced. I mean, Stateside, in English.

That's odd, I thought King mostly wrote fiction. If you liked the plot of that book, have you seen Pulse? I've just finished Stephen King's "Cell", a story about a virus that is spread to humans via cellphone, that turns them into some kind of "zombies" @father V: How would you stack that up to House of Leaves?

@father V: How would you stack that up to House of Leaves? It's hard to compare the two as they're written somewhat differently. Whereas House of Leaves reads like a story, Only Rev oluti ons reads like abstract, freeform poetry. The mechanics of "how" you read it are different too. The best way to do it is to read one page, flip it around and read the corresponding page from the other side so you get the full scenario. (There's not a whole lot of text on each page, so it doesn't take long.) It's not quite as deep as House of Leaves, but it's certainly entertaining.
