I know this is from two wiki's which are a very unreliable source of information. At the same time, it does reference the latest issue of Nintendo Power (May edition) so if anyone DOES have one or has access to one, a confirmation would be nice. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silent_Hill#Silent_Hill:_Shattered_Memories_.282009.29silenthill.wikia.com/wiki/Silent_Hill:_Shattered_MemoriesKey points: - "Not a remake or port" according to Climax - The game will feature familiar characters like Harry Mason but their relationships and how the game unfolds are altered. - Game reflects players psychology; player will be asked psychiatric questions and the player input and actions in the game dictate the events of the game and appearance of the monsters. - Wii remote motion sensing used for puzzles and to direct flashlight - Combat has been ditched entirely, focus is on evading enemies. - Akira Yamaoka is working on the soundtrack. So... is this real or just a hoax someone put on wiki? Or am I just completely insane and those wiki links don't work at all? >_>

Can't say I'm optimistic, mainly because there isn't enough evidence. Although it sounds interesting. At the moment I'm on the fence until any further information is released. One thing's for sure, Akira Yamaoka will be working on the soundtrack to the next game, just like always.

I would like this just NOT on the Wii. That stupid gimmick controller can piss off. Pretending I'm using a flashlight is cool and everything but honestly no.
The concept however sounds pretty awesome. Keep it to a system that's meant for it though. Wii is just not. I'm always up for a new OST though. Always~
Still just a rumor however.

Oh. My. God. So if you can't attack, how do you get through the game? Furthermore if the last boss is the Incubus, like in SH 1 then wouldn't it be the easiest boss ever since you have no ammo and it dies in two seconds? :U EDIT: More pics. ...this looks more like a younger Vincent than Harry Mason to me.

I can handle some of these changes; but why...why did they have to make Harry wear glasses? I bet it's some dumb stereotype to do with him being a writer.
Characters look different in certain areas, but watch; Alessa will still be dressed in that blue outfit.
For the first I'm actually hesitant of a new SH game, but damn it if I won't wind up trying it out. *and buying a Wii for this game. Hurh*

To be honest I get a completely different impression with this game. I'm not really expecting a Silent Hill game that is canon to the rest of the series, nor am I expecting a brilliant Silent Hill game. Instead what I'm seeing is an experiment of implementation of new horror elements and new ideas. Remember, Climax is also apparently working on a PS3 game for Konami, it's quite possible that it will be the "next" game in the series and this game is an experimental subgame to test out what qualifies as Silent Hill and also to take the horror genre itself in a direction that wouldn't turn it into Resident Evil 4 & 5. Some might see it as gimmicky but in all honesty we can't really say that until we play the game for ourselves. So yeah, I don't mind if this game makes little sense, I get the feeling it's not supposed to and that the game is an experiment. So for me at least, as long as the game is fun and still retains the "core" of what makes Silent Hill the series that it is and so long as the new gameplay elements are implemented well then I'd have to say the game was pretty successful. We'll just have to see. Oh and yeah I totally agree with you on Harry. If you remove the glasses, he would kinda/sorta look like Harry from SH 1 but the glasses make him look like a completely different person

There is acctually a litle puzzle in that magazine. Can you solve it? It goes like this: "Silent Hill fans love puzzles, right? Here's one to think about: What do Elvis, Willie Nelson, the Pet Shop Boys, Sheryl Crow, and Brenda Lee have in common?" Answer: The correct answer is that they all covered "Always On My Mind" Small hint there? We shall see.

Oh mah God! Harry looks wrong and if that is Cybil then she has a pretty good plastic surgeon. Still, I'd like to see how this turns out, sounds pretty fun but to quote:

I find it interesting how the Otherworld and monsters are ice based. Like... even though the appearance of the monsters and Otherworld supposedly changes depending on your answers in the beginning of the game, they will always have the general theme of ice and be fearful of heat and fire sources.
I guess I just like to see creativity with the Otherworld than just "use the movies Otherworld" like Homecoming.

After reading through those scans I only have one thing to say really, and that is: WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS SHIT!? Fucksake. Who of them thought "Hey, let's make everything all ICEY instead of Hellish! Ice is cooooool. And different. We like different." Fuck. Seriously. I fought for Origins, claiming it would be good back in the day. I massively defended Homecoming (though, I will admit, it was a foolish move and I was wrong), but this... this is taking the motherfucking cake. I agree with you Lifeless. Shattered Memories indeed. Fuckthisshit. *Nerdrage*
