I thought I would do a review on this since shf looks to be a far bit off coming back for now. Originally when it was announced this was coming out I remember on SHF everyone was pretty excited over it etc then came the hack were the full game was on the net before official release.
That aside I got it anyway first time it took me 4.5hrs to complete and has had plenty of replay value to get all endings, acolades, easter eggs and general complete exploration.
Now this is my 6th play through and my first for well over 6 months now general feel of the game atmosphere, music I feel was spot on the controls I thought were easy to use and combat was alright aswell but then again thats me I got used to it pretty quickly. The only gripe I had with the game is that it probably was to short I felt it needed about another 1hr or so gameplay in it.
Alchemilla, Chedar grove, The theatre, the motel all great levels but for me some interesting places were the apartments before the theatre, public records and going through all the shops etc to get to were you needed to be. One area I would of liked to visit would have been the church by the apartments.
IN regards to the story I feel it was nice to see some familiar faces but it didn't really expand or explain things really. Obviously there are some story inconsistances which some die hard purists will not like ie were alessa got burnt the ceremony, how alessa was portrayed and the sameal sp notes all these points been argued and still are on shhf to the point were cannon has been questioned. For me SH is so open to interpretation on how/what goes on I think things there go blown out of proportion I would like to hear your opinons on this aswell.
But with travis personal story it was alright but a bit to thin on the ground the butcher some will argue fan servie nee PH copy but that aside does tie in with travis well. Boss fights way to easy thats what I will say, compared to other games in the series you get to much ammo, to many melee weapons, once you get the tesla riffle you dont need anything else. Puzzles also thin on the ground and having no difficulty levels made extra play throughs easier and easier.
Don't have anything much more to say really as most of you guys have played the game so your thoughts and theories on Origins are appreciated as well. Overall I thought it was a good game that I enjoyed.
