Maybe we should all take bets as to what they are gonna F up, and those who are incredibly wrong have to do something humiliating in public and take pics for us to see here online!

From the sounds of things, they are going to continue the 'Rose' storyline, I am not even going to explain how that's going to fuck up everything up, we've all been there, discussed and scrutinized every bit as to how continuing from where the last film left off woulden't work. So there you go

The worst thing is that we're all gonna watch it anyway, at least just to prove to ourselves that we were right all along, which is exactly what the film makers want... Curse you Hollywood!! First you gave us Julia Roberts and now THIS?!

Meh, if it really seems like the film is going to be shite, just get a pirate copy. now I am all up for getting prouper copies of films to keep the industry alive, but I don't see why I should reward crappy movie making by paying

I feel dismayed, at the least, by the message about making the film "approachable". This is because I doubt that it will be achieved by ways of innovation and skilled integration rather than simply increasing the action, simplifying the storyline (thereby losing the psychological twists?) and somehow trying to reach that moneymaking targetgroup of adolescents, even though it's hard to fathom how you could ever make a Silent Hill movie publicly accesible to a 13 year old (although we all know they're watching'em while the parents aren't watching, hehe...) I think movies generally are becoming more accesible, and though I'm no fan of where that's taking us, I gotta say that movies like Sherlock Holmes (where practically no one ever really got killed) and Avatar (which is a textbook example of approachability, I think) did quite ok. But "sigh", it always causes tremendous heartache when the coorporations and commercial forces medle with my babies! We need an up and coming nerd of a director. One with vision and a taste for hard work! Dare I say; one like Peter Jackson.....back in the day?

It's sad but Hollywood continues to be dictated by the money moguls. Cinema's only true survival is thropugh Indie movies where love of the movie overrides corporate greed.
And how can they continue where the first movie left off? Sometimes less is more and to leave the audience guessing.

Do we even know if this is still going to happen? I have my doubts...

Consdiering onwe of the writers is in jail it probably won't be. I don't know whether I would be happy with a rubbish SH movie 2 or no second movie at all.

I'd rather have no movie than a crap movie. Hell, I'm not sure I'd prefer to have a 'just okay' movie to no movie. I'm not a big movie guy, I ususally only watch them if I'm pretty sure I'm going to like it. If a second one comes out, it'll probably be a while before I see it.

Maybe they will select a different writer. That would be sweet. *sigh* Perhaps we are lucky to have gotten A movie in the 1st place (depending on how you liked or didn't like it). Perhaps it was inevitable. I think at this point I might just prefer they (Hollywood) leave Silent Hill alone.

Hmmm, I wonder if Silent Hill 2 could work as an independent film. The monsters would look like crap, but as long as the sound is good it could still work.

The smaller budget would also mean they would less likely get a big name star. I think lesser knowns would be better in any roles chosen.

I agree with both posts above. Independent would be sweet. Monsters would certainly take some work, but I think it could be pulled off. If I ever win the lotto, which I never play, that is the first thing on my to do list.

If it was independent I don't think there'd be too much of a problem with the monsters.
In the original movie they were all costumes. Not to mention look at what some people do in their spare time as cosplays.
With the right passionate director, they'd figure it out.
One thing with the original movie was the sheer amount of sets they used. They were constantly changing in the movie as well. It was pretty crazy.

An independent Silent Hill movie would be all kinds of awesome. Find an abandoned building, have a dedicated make-up artist and costume designer with you, along with some unknown yet talented actors, and you're good to go. The subtle psycho-horror of Silent Hill would go very well - scenes like Heather's alternative hospital couldn't be made, but scenes equivalent to James' videotape watching in Room 312 or the subtle changes in Henry's room could be done quite well. ...If only we had the money and the means...
