It's felt like home for a while to me, just with less neighbors than before...

I can't help but compare this place to Shepherd's Glen. Maybe not the most original thought, yet it's no less true. Not that I care. This place is where I look to buzz around for a bit, and I'm going to be buzzing pretty fiercely to make sure some dust kicks up. This place will be/is worth the glory that it was before. No reason to not be committed, I feel, especially since my only other option is unending boredom out in.. "reality". *shudder*

I dunno, this otherworld has far less people I used to really relate to back in the old one but other than that it's okay if a little mellow (used to sit down in the evening and hit "new replies" or something like that and find threads I could contribute to ... not so much here but it's still nice)

I mean we could actively do a few more no problems actually thinking on it I will give this some thought and start a few to provoke discussion

Well the old one had silly little game threads for everything from movies to games and people would actively post which made it work well. Here the games go slow as hell ... but that's not the point ... there were tons of tiny little threads with just crazy ideas/reviews/impressions/advice requests/similar game recommendation requests etc. etc. you didn't have to be an SH fan to find something to actually contribute/post to every few hours or so.
I think we need to draw in more people. Do we have a facebook page or something to the sort in any social website?

Do we have a facebook page or something to the sort in any social website? One of the things I've been doing since coming back is digging through the forgotten/neglected posts for stuff that is genuinely interesting. There is stuff here that is worth a gander, and even more in stuff that has yet to be posted. Your suggestion of a Facebook/social website drive would be a great idea, so long it's orchestrated and those fronting it keep on top of it. We have members using such sites, all it would take is a page, our members to link to the page, and then a real attempt to bring attention to both it and us. I've got one or two ideas, myself. One of them I sent to Vio for his opinion before I put it up for larger discussion, and the other depends entirely on me getting ahold of a few supplies. If we're going to look to places like Facebook and Myspace and so, we should also take advantage of video-sharing sites like Youtube. I have no doubt in my mind that a collective drive will bring some vitality to things around here. It all comes down to us actually doing something that isn't merely reminiscing and lurking.

well from my part, my silly little advert you see bellow has brought a couple fellas that I know about, I have a FB account, but I never use it, so my participation will be reduced to this banner I've got, which is up in quite a few forums and whatnot. Not much but it's something.

dwz there is a fb page up for here When you say that, do you mean that the page has already been up or that you just made it? If you didn't make it, is anybody working it? Also, what might be the opensource link to this? If it needs to be said, there's a thread over in the Members Biznizz section with Facebook accounts ripe for the hassling, after your friends are run through. Might be helpful. Not much but it's something. Hey, glancing through every day or so is enough for anybody. It's better than dropping a username only to disappear after three posts.

This reminds me... will you guys put the snow again this Xmas? it lags my SHF experience like hell... ¬3¬ Sorry for taking so long to actually respond to this mate, life shiz has been chasing me with a big stick. I will be sorting some festive prettiness for us within the next couple of days (feeling hideously late), BUT I shall see about making it optional for everyone to whom it is more a burden than a shiny novelty. Should it work it shall likely only kick in when you are logged in though. Now let us pray that it works and that I don't just accidentally delete the whole place...... And as an aside seeing as I have been thinking of it for a while now and have been asked by a few of you; How would y'all feel about a chatbox? It could be nice for when you wish to jibber on things not thread-applicable.
