www.filefront.com/14912375/01%20Track%2001.m4aI thought that I should post some of my playing today. It is Tres Lent, a piece for Cello and Piano composed by Joan Tower a few years ago. This concert was from a month or two ago, before the concert, I played her piece for her and she gave me suggestions (orders) on how to perform it. I love contemporary music since we can actually get feed back from the composers themselves. Tres Lent references the work of Oliver Messian, particularly on the concept of the expansion of time. Considering that music is a collection of events over a specific length of time, it is possible to slow down the time of the music, and in a way give the impression of slowing our perception of time itself. NOTE: It's been a while since I posted music on the forum, so let me know if there is a problem.

Violoncello is my favorite instrument, have you ever done Bach´s prelude? I think that´s the name, it´s my favorite violoncello piece.

Link worked great, Vio, I liked the piece. It is beautiful but also a a bit sad... was that the feeling the composer was going for?

I think it represents a struggle... A struggle that was not meant to be.
