So I have to ask as to whether there are any fans of this band in the forum, here. For those who don't know, here's an example of their sound:
The bee's bloody knees, in my opinion. And live? Oh, it's so very worth it. They happened by Philadelphia back in September, I think it was, at Club Polaris, which is situated comfortably by Club Shampoo and the Electric Factory.
So, any fans? Anybody else see them live, or, better yet, meet the members in person? Chibi is adorable, and I mean that in as uncreepy a way as possible.

I have heard of them but I wouldn't call myself a fan. I've heard two songs, this one and Blue, but I have to thank you for posting this song because I actually quite like it. Who knows, maybe you've converted me?
One thing I can say is that they have an unusual style, something which is very unique. It makes a nice change from all the generic crap I'm hearing lately.

If you'd be interested, their fourth album, Pins and Needles, has been out for the last two-to-three months. My personal favorite track off of it has been Always:
Pale is pretty good too, so is Secret.. you know what, I can't say that there's a single bad song out of any of them.
The only real complaint I've heard from anybody on the band is that their music all has a similarity to it. I can kind of see where the opinion could come from, but, seriously, the replay value of Birthday Massacre has always been high up there.
Compared to crap like Lady Gaga, Beiber, Ke$ha, and the other mainstream garbage, it's a welcomed godsend.

I adore The Birthday Massacre. I want to marry Chibi ~ ~ She's a delightful woman. For the benefit of those who don't know what we're on about: This beautiful person is Chibi, the lead singer. As I could boast on and on about like an idiot, I had the wonderful chance of speaking with her at a show a month or so back. She stopped a fight that broke out at the left side of the stage by two bulky guys. It was sweet, she was sweet, and such a charm to talk to. And she hugged me. Twice. I'll shut up. This is Rainbow. He does things. This is Michael Falcore on lead guitar. Drums are handled by Rhim. With keyboard by Owen, who was the only other band member I managed to talk to. A very nice guy, I wouldn't have gotten to meet Chibi without him. He was also the nearest one to the fight. His expression was priceless. As far as finding Nate goes, I don't know why I didn't do this: If I'm not mistaken, the guy on Chibi's immediate right should be Nate Manor. Here, altogether, you have The Birthday Massacre.

I'll admit that after this thread was posted I began listening to their songs and found I actually quite liked them. Red Stars, Violet and Looking Glass are some of my favourites.

Always glad to convert. Just to throw it out there, their website is: www.thebirthdaymassacre.comI tried and failed to find tour dates for the upcoming year. From what I can tell, they just ended things for 2010, but I'll throw something up as soon as I hear about it.

I really want to see them live. Though despite being Canadian, they don't come around my area a lot.
It seems that way with a lot of Canadian industrial bands. It's just too damn expensive to tour a lot of western Canada.
Once they get a certain status they only hit the major cities usually *cough Skinny Puppy cough*.
Which is ironic as hell because euro industrial bands go out of their way to hit Edmonton because of the scene there.
I'm sure one day TBM will hit near here.
Chibi has such a neat and adorable stage presence. She can jump from being super serious to not taking herself seriously at all in a heart beat~

If nothing else, there's nothing to suggest the band will split anytime soon. I hope you'll get your show. It really is something else to see, as you said, Chibi snapping between bellowing out rage to being a sweet little angel in half a second. If they swing by PA again, little would keep me from seeing them again. I can't say I've heard of Skinny Puppy. I'll look them up, if they're comparable to The Birthday Massacre.

Heard about them a few years back. Not my scene, not my style. But I saw the thread title and said to myself "That sounds really familiar."

To each their own.
Btw, as promised, an update on their 2011 Tour:
March 25th at The Opera House in Toronto, Canada.
So, yeah, just one so far, but there's more coming. I'll continue updating for those interested.
