We are considering if we should install a chat room, (very much like the old one) for SHF'ers to engage in small talk that isn't really suited to the threads. So I'm opening a poll so we can gauge the interest.
Personally, I'm for the idea, as long as we treat each other with the same respect and courtesy that we show each other on the forum.

I'm in favor of it. I'm a regular at the site comicbloc.com which has a chat room. It doesn't see a lot of use, but its nice to have the option.
In terms of respect and courtesy, there are lighthearted jabs thrown around, but its all in good fun. In the case where someone I genuinely do not like logs in, I simply do not address them, just like in the forums.

Blimey, I dunno, I feel guilty voting "Meh" now. Feel free to count it as a Yay in case of a tie or something.

Yes to this. It'll give me something more to do while I'm hiding from winter during choice days.

I'd have to vote no currently. We don't have the numbers of Old SHF or the activity. That place was hoppin! (/roaring 20s mode)
Once we get more active then I'd say yes

I voted yes but not overly fussed problem is time wise for everything, being over in the UK and most of you lot being in the US for somewere in europe its hard to get on at same time.

I'm afraid I have to say no too. There aren't enough regular members online at the same time, and if trolls happen across this site it'll just provide a breeding ground for spam.
Sorry guys :/

If trolls happen across this site it'll just provide a breeding ground for spam. I'm not familiar with how chat room control works for the mods, but trolls are always something of a potential hassle, chatroom or no chatroom. Trying to attract more people is going to increase the odds of that hassle happening. It kinda just seems like one of those things you're suppose to expect and deal with when you get there. Like bedbugs. Or sour milk.
