Awesome. ^_^
But yeah, I'm really started to get disgusted with all of this.

Let's all agree to disagree on this. Ultimately, Konami will do as they are wont to do and there is nothing you can do about it. Buy it or not, this is the only thing that matters
Obviously there will be discussion after release but can't we all agree to wait until then?

I don't really have an opinion on the matter (new voices). I don't have a ps3 or an Xbox, so that might have something to do with it. Now there are a bunch of petitions going around about it, and I just think that's futile. Not to mention that I'm sure they're close to completion of stuff now, I doubt they're gonna change the voices. After hearing a podcast interview with Troy Baker, I respect him now, I had previously thought he came off as sort of dickish. In any case, I still have multiple copies of original releases of SH2 and SH3. I'll watch youtube videos to check out the new voices, probably. I don't think there has been much word about SH3 yet, though. As for this whole fiasco, I wish they would be less public about it, it seems unprofessional to me, but nothing I can do about it... Monica Taylor Horgan (Mary/Maria) has something to say, too.

I have an idea, why not just remove voices completely and use subtitles instead, a-la Final Fantasy? That way nobody wins and we can all sulk in our respecitve corners. Oh I can just see Eddie's intro vomit scene now! Eddie Subtitles: "Mmmmm mmmmoullllluuuuueeeeeerrggh! mmmoouuleeerggghhh cough cough! erghhh! puuaaawwll, pfffttaaa!" Or what about the scene with Pyramid head and that lying figure? Pyramid Head Subtiltles: "Oooooooooooooooourrrraaaahhh! Ooooooouurraaahhhhh! That actually looks very entertaining. But wait, Monica's getting in on the action too!? Why do I suddenly see a cast revolt happening? There'll be a lynching yet!

Yeah, I kinda wish there was more to that interview. Like, stuff not related to this Guy cihi controversy. Just because I don't think anyone's really interviewed her at all before, not that I know of, anyway.

So where does that leave us?
So it seems that Guy was right that he didn't sign a contract of any kind refering to residuals and made a verbal agreement that he has rights to his performance, however according to western law you can't get residuals for perfomances in a game.
So that's where the misunderstanding has happened, the fact that silent hill is no longer in Japanese developers hands and so the rules are different. Guy Chi is essentially expecting a promise to be kept that was made by a different part of Konami, from a different part of the world, according to different laws.

Jeremy Blaustein has responded to this: "I want everyone to understand the truth that [Guy Cihi] is the one responsible for the fact that the original voices won’t be in SH2 and SH3. He should not be THANKED for his efforts to get the voices back into the HD collection since he is the one responsible for them not being in in the first place and I find his manipulation of the situation to be personally irritating." More at: alchemillahospital.net/jeremy-blaustein-responds-to-the-shhd-controversy/I also interviewed Monica Taylor Horgan a few days ago alchemillahospital.net/interview-with-monica-taylor-horgan/"I’m really hopeful Konami US will consider releasing an HD version with the original voices too. I don’t think they ever realized what the fallout would be. I’m still hoping to help make that happen if I can."

I talked to Monica a little while ago on Facebook. She seems very genuine and surprised at how much people love the original voice acting. Came across as quite humble.
She simply wants the original voices to be included along with the new ones.
The interview pretty much shows that. Awesome one and good job!

Awesome. ^_^ But yeah, I'm really started to get disgusted with all of this. Sounds like one big drama llama I hope things work out for the better, honestly. I would love to hear the original mixed with some of the new for the re-release.

It was a big stupid 'drama llama'.
At first it was interesting. But then everyone started acting ridiculous. It was the first time I seen both the fanbase and the people directly involved with the games act like children.
Even McGlynn acted that way at a convention. It was kind've sad. The only one who seemed to be not guilty of this was Monica.
But at least it seems all of it was for something. The likelihood of the original voices being used, at least as an option, is a lot higher now. No guaranteed though.
If it went this far and they don't let them be used (especially mostly everyone's signed off and it's highly supported) would be completely and painfully stupid on their behalf.
