The game trailers review wasn't any better.

While survival/horror isn't really his favorite genre, I get the feeling the review is probably pretty accurate. His other reviews were pretty much spot on
I was pretty much expecting something like this would be the inevitable result- lately the focus seems to be all on having a great looking engine at the expense of a good story and less than twenty hours of gameplay...

So...what about the other positive reviews for the game, they just don't count and get nullified because a bad review or two came out? This isn't a general census, actually most everyone I've read of or spoken to who's even remotely interested in survival horror and SH has really enjoyed the game, myself included.

Whilst I have yet to play the game, I generally do not listen to video game reviews, especially not from popular websites such as Gametrailers and IGN. It seems they deliberately hire the most cynical, utterly miserable, bitter old gits they can find.
I can make up my own mind. I don't need some whiny sod telling me which games to buy and which ones not to buy. Anyway, I read the paper the other day, and the guy in there gave it 4/5 stars. I'll take his opinion over Escapist's any day of the week.
