I'm not sold on 3D being a bad thing, i loved Hugo in 3D, and there was recently a story going around the internet about it (don't ask me how) curing someone of stereoblindness.
Having some issues with my shockwave player at the moment, but trailer looks ... ok. I'll see it at cinema's, unless it gets a horribly delayed release date like the last one did, in that case, it'll be a import.

I think it looks pretty great. I'm pretty confident with Bassett directing honestly. I've seen some of his previous movies and they're pretty damn awesome. Flawed, but awesome.
He did a movie called Deathwatch which was pretty much Silent Hill in WWII in a trench with likely a pretty low budget. After seeing that and Solomon Kane, I figured Revelations will turn out at least enjoyable.
Bassett basically decided to make a movie that would work as a sequel to the original movie, an adaptation of SH3 and something that could stand on its own as well. You can tell that just by watching the trailer really. I think he will be successful with this movie.
Though, the fanbase will pretty much never really be pleased regardless!

Let's face it, the fan base will always be divided on anything that comes out with the title of Silent Hill.

Pretty much. lol
I think part of the joy of the movies though is that we haven't seen it. It's somewhat fresh and interesting, but has things familiar to us. PH for example.
Granted, I don't like PH being in there, but let's be real, movies are notorious for cherry-picking when it comes to adaptations. Haters gonna hate, I guess.

Well, considering I said I wasn't looking forward to the film, that trailer looked pretty damn good! I, too, am gutted that Vincent is no longer a middle aged swindling man of the cloth, but the trailer has got me interested now. Everyone can enjoy a film like this, whilst also keeping a lot of elements of the game in there too.
I just hope the symbolism isn't lost in the SFX. I saw some freaky mannequin CGI in there that looked kind of tacky. Let's hope that's the only computerized enemy we see. But I take back what I said. It looks like a thoroughly good film.
