As some of you, or none of you may know, I've been engaged to a very wonderful young lady for a while now. We've spent over five years together as a couple, and about a year before that as friends. But now it would seem that the time has come for me to make her my Queen, and if all goes according to plan, we're to be married in September.
She's ecstatic and browsing feverishly for dresses and the like. September is her birth month, so with any luck this will be one of my birthday gifts to her.
So...soon there will also be a Queen of Dogs.

However, you may want to re-think this nickname.

Awwwww. Congrats King! BTW, how did you propose, if it's no secret? Nothing special really. I'm pretty new to serious relationships, only had small time flings and whatnot before this. As such I get nervous around the subject matter. In essence we were already SORT OF engaged. A good while back we'd agreed that we wanted to marry one another casually over the phone. But I was hesitant...because I'm afraid of serious change. I'm also not really a Christian, and was weary of a Christian ceremony, still am. BUT we actually got into a rather...extensive breakdown a bit back, and everything changed. I realized just how much I needed her in my life, and what she meant to me. And thus marriage was brought back up, with me saying I'd marry her the next day if able, and I meant it. But these things take time to plan and organize. As such we're shooting for September, since her birth date in that month. Now everyone around us knows of it, and everyone is pretty excited, some overly so. Hell, I've been with the girl faithfully for over five years now, that's a bit of time. Her daughter loves me and almost considers me the father she never had. So this is about time. We'd also like to eventually have a child of our own, when we've settled down and have prepared financially. Hahaha, gone are the days of me spending $300-400 dollars a month on video games! Money's an issue currently, but we'll make it. I need glasses badly, as I'm nearsighted...but when given the choice for Xmas from a friend, I chose a new guitar over them...lol. In my defense it's a pretty guitar.

I wish you two all the best! ^___^

I'm hoping I will as well Alexy. I know I can protect her, that's comforting. (Despite the fact that I'll always be second guessed and underestimated because of my height. Still I've never lost a fight in my life, and had too many to count.)
I'm broke as hell though, and have nothing as far as education goes beyond High School. She's ok with that, for now. We don't even have a place together though. She's staying with her mother, who's terminally ill, and trying to find somewhere to move to. As shitty as it may be, we may be living in separate homes for a bit after marriage. It's kinda lame, and unorthodox, but hell, we're anything but orthodox to begin with.
I have a lot to worry about, but I'm trying not to let it get to me. I'm just happy to have her in my life like this.
