Something of interest that has never been seen before by the public outside of E3. There are numerous differences in this trial compared to what's seen in the final release. Some of the differences are more "major" than others. If you have any questions about the trial--such as the controls, bugs, etc.--be sure to ask and I'll answer as best I can: www.igotaletter.com/media/videos/?player/special/01.php

James, STOP BREATHING!
I'm so glad his constant gasping was removed in the final version of the game. This early draft is more like SH1 with the twisty camera angles and the item menu.
p.s lol at the floating plank of wood.

Haha, yeah, I purposely showcased those glitches because I thought they were so odd. It also seemed that all those glitches stemed from equipping and using the wooden plank--that damn plank! If you had the plank equipped and entered any area with mannequins their polygonal model would "explode" and they'd disappear. Also, if it's equipped when fishing out the key in the drain it'll "float" in the air while James is fishing.
About the heavy breathing: James doesn't stop on his free will to catch his breath. I did that to show people how "dramatic" and over-the-top his old breathing animation used to be. It was a bit ridiculous, to say the least. I found it most funny when he went from heavy breathing to mid breathing--the shift in animation just "jumped" to the next one without any crossover.

About the heavy breathing: James doesn't stop on his free will to catch his breath. Aw, crud, that's a shame. That would be so cool. Like, James having to really stop and take a breather after a longer run or couple of fights. Or, after the effects of an energy drink, a sudden fall in stamina. Would make the game a challenge even more. (Hey, James did mention he drank a lot. It's plausible. He might even have some flabby belly on him.)

Kinda neat to see the differences. Mostly in the ambiance for me. I don't like the repetitive ambiance on the first floor (although they kept it for monster fights I think? Sounds good there!) but I love that creepy sound on the second floor. Sounds like wheels turning or something.
James panting all the time is kinda annoying. I could see making him more like Travis in terms of stamina. Alexy kinda has the right idea I think. He was an alcoholic and such.
8-9 years too late for these criticisms though!

Damn, the camera in that trial is much better than the final version, but the breathing sound... :X
