Okay. So. I'm going to tell a little story about something that happened to me....I'm not really asking for help, but moreso wondering if others have had similar issues, and I sortof want to rant about it because it makes me angry.
I was one of those unlucky people who didn't have enough cash to get a ps3, so I opted to get the PC version of SH5. I don't even know ANY of the main differences between the two (if there are any), like how they play and such, but I do know that getting it for the PC would keep me from having to use rent money to buy an entirely new console for just one game. Hm.
So I got it. Let's just say I got it, and not bought it, and no I won't tell you what happened or elaborate further. I installed that baby on 3/7 computers we have in our apartment (my roomie just keeps buying more because he's freaking crazy) and tested it on each one to see if it would play. Nope. The specs match up perfectly fine, and the graphics cards are BETTER than the ones supported, but no amount of fiddling, updating, coercing, or screaming would make this game work. I even patched it with user-made patches and attempted to install it on my roomie's desktop (which he doesn't let others use cause he's quite protective).
It gives me that... "OMG NO MEMORY WTF" thing each time. I have updated all drivers, have more than enough ram, and the video cards are all fine and compatible except for one (which still should run because it is better than the ones listed). But it won't go. Even cards that aren't as good should be able to handle this game, especially when everything else is way above the specs.
I am going to be making my rounds on friday and will try to install them on each goddamn computer in the house.
Has anyone else had this issue? Should I just wait for enough money to buy a ps3? Is the game really worth it, or no? I've heard so many bad things about it that I'm not so sure it's worth it, but hey, its Silent Hill...how can I NOT play it? Guh. This is driving me batty!!
If this kinda topic isn't allowed, forgive me.
