Just discovered this while looking at company reels in hopes of finding a video job. Pay attention to the sound right after the monkey stomps the alien. Same exact sound they used for GUMHEAD! It's like 37 seconds in... p.s. Sorry if this is lame at all, it's like a treasure hunt for me. ;D

The various door sounds from the Silent Hill series have become equivalent to the Wilhelm Scream for me. I swear I can tell every door sound, even some gate sounds, when it's a stock sound used in the Silent Hill series as well.

I'm the same way. I played the games so much that now I know every sound. It's just ingrained in my brain now. So when I'm watching a movie, show or listening to some music I can hear the stock sounds used that were in used in the SH games.
It's hilarious.

Yeah, it satisfying for me for some reason. I guess it's like Silent Hill saying "hi" at the most unexpected moments.

Actually, I knew it was a stock sound before I played the game lol.
Akira used quite a few, but it's still mostly original sound effects.

Yeah, there seem to quite a few stock sounds in there. Doesn't really matter to me. The guy is still a freaking genius!

Cool. I've heard Silent Hill sounds in various movies myself. The last one I remember was an asian movie, I think the name was Re-Cycle. There was a part the ghosts made the same sound of the ghosts from SH4. It's so easy to recognize.

Oh god, Yeah the name "Re-Cycle" is fitting, as they borrowed a lot from SH. Personally I hated it. but that of course is my opinion.

Hm, I just saw this today, yes they were quite fond of recycled SFX back then, I suppose the budgets for videogame making were like half of what they are nowadays, and I also felt Akira's sound quite half assed since SH4, I'm guessing he was already a lil dissapointed of the pseudo SH-ness Henry was capable of.

I didn't like SH4's sound as well. Disappointing after the older games.
In Silent Hill 2 in the Historical Society I heard a sound I'd never head before by walking the other way around a table than I usually do. That game was genious.
