I figured this deserved a plug. Five indy games: World of Goo, Gish and Aquaria, which have won Independent Games Festival awards, along with Lugaru HD and what I think will be of particular interest for forum goers here, Penumbra: Overture. Bought on their own, they'd run you about US $80. But from now until May 11th, you can set your own price via the Humble Indie Bundle. From there you can download the games, DRM free, for Windows, Mac OS, or Linux. Best of all, the money goes to good places. By default, its split equally between the developers, the Electronic Frontier Foundation, and my personal favorite, Child's Play. I said "by default" as you get to choose how the money is split up. Give it all to the developers, or all to Child's Play, or maybe most of it to EFF while letting the others have a smaller cut. Its entirely your choice. At the time I write this, they've brought in $438,320 from 54756 contributors. I'll also note that the purchase includes a discount code to buy the rest of the Penumbra series direct from the developer for $5. That offer, like the HIB, is good until May 11th.

Neat idea, but the only game there I'd really be interested in is Penumbra. Money's tight for me, so I dunno. Very tight. But I like the cause.

The bundle has been updated to include Samorost 2. Those that have already snagged the bundle get it added to their download page at no additional cost.

Less then four hours remaining! They've almost hit the $1,000,000 mark.

The sale has ended, with the final intake being $1,042,005. As a bonus, because of this, Aquaria, Gish, Lugaru HD, and Penumbra Overture have pledged to go open source. Lugaru's source is avalaible now, with the other game's source forthcoming.
I'm interested to see what sorts of mods will come of Gish and Penumbra.

Penumbra mods will be FASCINATING, I think.

I figured its worth mentioning that although the initial donation period has ended, they're keeping the Bundle available for a bit longer. Also, the 75% off Penumbra Collection offer will remain valid for as long as the Bundle is around.
