Haven't seen it. Anyone watch it? My roommate watched it and said it was pretty good. Other people told me it blew and the VFX were less than expected. Someone on here must have watched it! Let's hear it!

Yeah, i saw it on the weekend. Its nothing special, some mindless fun. In comparison to other film to game conversions its pretty good. The story seems to borrow elements from the other games in the sands of time series, without being overly faithful to them, kind of cuts its own path.

Yeah, I thought I saw a transformation in the trailer as well as that chain weapon that the dark half or whatever the hell its called uses. Did it remind you of Pirates of the C at all? I could never really stomach those movies cause it was just non stop throwing shit at the screen. Like there was never really any waning of rope swinging and explosions. I found it quite mind numbing.

One of the 'Hassassins' does use the Chain-Whip the Dark Prince has in the Two Thrones. And i'd say they have scripted it a little to feel like a Pirates of the Caribbean film. So your less likely to enjoy PoP if you didn't get some sort of kick out of those films.

You know what? I just got back from watching PoP, and I will have to admit that I really liked it! Which I wasn't expecting to say. I never cared for the Pirate movies, but I don't know, something about PoP just tickled my fancy. There were lots of winks to the game, but I thought they were sparse and tastefully done. Someone who never played the game would never notice them. Like the chain pac-white was referring to, or when he slides down between two walls. It was really really fast, and only happened once in the movie. Also, the banter between Dasdan and the Princess was spot on as far as I was concerned. Hell, I'd probably watch it again. Perhaps bring a lady this time...

I saw it Friday, and I was really impressed. It made me want to dust off my Gamecube and play the game again. The only thing I didn't like was the ending, which to me was akin to those plots in which the entire story was all a dream. I wish they'd at least have had the princess remember as well. Ah well.

Megan saw it, loved it visually, really cared about the princess. I dunno, she hasn't convinced me, I don't think I'd like the movie for the most part, but maybe at some point I'll try it.

Not to rain on the parade, but wasn't there an issue with using white actors for roles better suited for, say, actual Persians/those of middle eastern descent? Never having seen the movie, this qualm is about my only connection to any aspect of it.

I saw it when it first came out and I haven't re-watched it since which I usually do ... it was okay as a movie and it certainly had its moments with the whole prince rewinding the sands bits but the over all chemistry between Gyllenhaal and errr the princess was unimpressive ... maybe even less ... they just didn't do that well together even when the movie wanted you to think otherwise.
Good movie for those that don't go into it expecting stuff (meaning gamers/fanboys).
