1UP are doing one of there Week long featuers on Resident Evil 5, apparently theres talk of RE6 in their, and it being a 'reboot' of the frachise. Or something like that, story and gameplay will have a clean slate.
The guys over at penny arcade have played a preview build of the game too, i kinda trust there opinion more then i do most of the gamesites that preview a game. They mention theres alot of loading screens. I get the impression there more impressed with it then they were with the demo.

Saw the boss fight at the 1UP that you mentioned Pac, and well... I... I don't know what to think.
Also, I've heard ALOT of mixed views on the length of the game. Some claiming 15 to 20 hours, others claiming 7-10 hours. =/
I am damn intruiged about where this is going though.
And for some reason I want to say sorry to all my gaming-friends here, for not being on and discussing all these cool games coming like back in the days at SHF. (Hell, we where quite a tight little circle always updating ourselves there). But you guys should know, I AM lurking around. Watching. Reading.

DAMN Capcom for putting out RE5 so close to SFIV! I'm so wrapped up in SFIV doing ranked online matches that it might be a bit before I really dig into this.

Well, I watched damn near the whole feed and having seen the whole game I can safely say this is still a day one purchase for me. It gets kinda ridiculous (read: stupid) towards the end but its alright. There are some clever throwbacks to previous REs like Wesker's final form looks almost EXACTLY like Birkin's final form in RE2
Lengthwise? It was around 15 hours or so but given the 'mystery mode' that you unlock after and given the 10 characters you can use in that mode (its not what you think) its fair to say you'll get your moneys worth Overall, it was what I expected. I can't wait to see what DLC they'll offer Also, KAOz, there is one trophy that'll be a pain in the ass but I'm sure you'll get it regardless

Watched the ending bits, and some middle parts from the game. And I am still kind of torn with it. In a sense the story feels.... weird. But who knows, the experience might be top-notch in the game. Deus: Which one? I AM hellbent on getting Trophies to the point that I now rank in the top 500 in Killzone 2 multiplayer (both weekly and all-time), only to get the "Be in the top 1% on the leaderboards"-trophy. XD

The Works trophy.
You have to string together maximum combos in a single attempt.
Now HOW I READ IT is that in co-op Mercs mode you have to get 999 combos 8O
That trophy should be GOLD, not bronze!
Unless I'm reading it wrong....?
re: the story Yeah, it was silly but its Resident Evil, what are we expecting, really? Metal Gear Solid?

Man, one of the live streams went through all the bonus items and there is a certified SHIT TON of stuff to unlock Interesting info -Any weapon can be upgraded to infinite ammo (but you must first clear the game first) -Upgrading the Machine Gun completely gets you the Mini Gun -Completing the game once lets you have the option of playing through the game as Sheva -Items and weapons transfer from playthroughs and difficulties (You have a souped up shotgun on your Easy playthrough and you beat the game and save and continue with a Normal playthough you'll still have it) -In Mercs mode there are envirokills (In the lab level there is a switch that causes massive spikes to shoot through the floor, killing any enemy) EDIT God, is this sexy or what? Apparently you get it for fully upgrading any magnum. And its only 30,000 points/dollars/clams!

wait wait wait .... your telling me... your telling me, the freakin bird-lady (who was obviously Jill from pretty much the trailer she first appeared in (that also contained the Jill Tombstone), is also the freakin blonde girl in the tube we all speculated was sherry? ... Jill looks horrible as a blonde.
I'm going to hold off getting the game for awhile. the Demo left a sour taste in my mouth, and most of what they've shown of the game has rubbed me the wroung way too. Although some of those unlocks Vaco Deus mentioned sound like good fun. (playing as Sheva on a second play through, unlimited ammo on all weapons. Though i'm kinda dissapointed about weapon upgrades passing over to the next game when you up the difficulty.)

Yeah, Sherry was never in it to begin with. One of the producers confirmed it last week.
I do hope we find out what happened to her. Seeing as in Wesker's Report he stated there was something important about her
Oh, man, to quote the Merchant (Who I miss dearly) Stranger, Stranger! Now THATS a weapon! Triple barrel shotgun!

Usually I'm not a gun-nut or anything, but GATDAYYYYYYYMN that Revolver and that shotgun is sexy.
Almos considering getting this game now. XD Not for the weapons of course, but for the sheer multiplayer-value. Who would deny the fun in running through a Resident Evil-game with some of my old SHF-pals really? Specially, if one can find awesome hardcore weapons.
And trophies. <_<; Running out of Trophies for Killzone 2 now. Only three left which are all easy to get.

I will now abuse my Admin-power and DOUBLE-POST! FUCK YEEEEEAH!!!!!!!! Anyway, doing it for YOU Deus. After some snooping around the Intranet-tubes, I have found out how to do the "The Works"-trophy. It's acctually NOT in Mercenaries mode at all. It is apperantly in Single-player where you have to do a 3-kill Melee combo. As far as I understood that is. This is how you do it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=XR8oJsLudLU&feature=related

Maybe I'll get the PC version, if it ever gets one. I just hope it'll be better than the RE4 port. Ugh. >_>

I haven't played RE, RE2 or RE3 but I hope those had better ports if indeed they were ported to pc. Well, I know they at least ported RE2 and RE3 to the PC in North America, as I had them at one point. They weren't the most competent ports, but they played well. They had that awkward imparity between nicely scaling 3D character models juxtaposed against a horribly low resolution pre-rendered 2D backdrop, and the difference was made glaring on a good monitor. Picking up RE5 after my workout today.
