This is in Regards to the Dark Alessa that has many names, of the Silent Hill film and not the Memory of Alessa that appeared in SH3. Obviously that one is not Valtiel.
If you haven't heard, Basset evidently intends to make clear in SH:Revelations 3D that there are Two (Count them TWO) cults in Silent Hill, Christabella's Weird witch burning one from the original film as well as one that more directly relates to the Order. That got me wondering to an extent just how that changes the symbolism of the first film.
An idea then occurred to me - is it possible that the 'demon' Christabella's cult keep bitching about, the one that wears the face of the little girl, the who claims to have many names, may be none other than Valtiel himself? It's clear that Christabella's Cult has been fighting the Order (During the 'Congratulations! You have found my evil lair! Here, let me explain the plot of the film' Speech, Dark Alessa references 'The weapons you use to fight' her turning back against them). Could it be possible that, by whatever means, the Cult had for years kept the Order from bringing their God back to life? Wouldn't it make sense for the Valet of God to make a deal with an angry, hurt girl to get rid of those people?
I'll have to re-watch the movie again with that in mind to come up with the Groundwork for this theory, but it appeals to me. I mean, make no mistake, there is no way the Silent Hill Films can be canon. They're simply mutually exclusive - they cannot be the same people and the same events, and on the other hand there cannot be two separate incidents involving two separate Alessa Gillespies, just like there cannot be two Dahlia Gillespies, two Cybil Bennets... yet at the same time, Basset's efforts can be appreciated.
Does anyone have any thoughts in regards to this possible meaning to the most awkward use of a satanic archetype in modern Cinema?
