I just started The Road by Cormac McCarthy and God's BALLS is it good. It paints a bleak, dreary, utterly depressing picture of post-apocalypse America. Here is the plot synopsis: A searing, postapocalyptic novel destined to become Cormac McCarthy's masterpiece. A father and his son walk alone through burned America. Nothing moves in the ravaged landscape save the ash on the wind. It is cold enough to crack stones, and when the snow falls it is gray. The sky is dark. Their destination is the coast, although they don't know what, if anything, awaits them there. They have nothing; just a pistol to defend themselves against the lawless bands that stalk the road, the clothes they are wearing, a cart of scavenged food, and each other. Maks me wanna play Fallout 3 again ;D Whoa that sounds amazing, I wonder if there is an audiobook available for this one. I will probably end up picking up this one after I finish Choke (almost done with it) Thanks again for the recommendation ^___^

Some stills from locations they've been shooting the film at. It looked interesting what they had, but just now, i think you've sold me on reading the book. currently reading The Long Halloween by Jeph Loeb, think i might read Peter Jackson : A film-makers journey, after that. Should i not locate a copy of The Road first.

Just finnished Whistleblower by Tess Gerritson. I will not go as far to say she is a terrible writer, but that was such a terrible book! Now reading Americana by Don Delillo. A writer I respect and admire.

Glad you guys are interested in it.
I just finished it and, honestly, if the world did end, the survivors would prolly act like the people in the book. Its a sad statement of the human nature

I went to a book sale at the library across the street yesterday. So right now I'm reading Thomas Pynchon's Gravity's Rainbow. Other books I bought were Tom Clancy's The Hunt for Red October and Patriot Games, Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged, and Franz Kafka's The Trial.
By the way, anyone here have a Shelfari account?

and Franz Kafka's The Trial. That's an unbelievably great book. It took me by surprise completely.

The device used to inscribe your crimes from the Trial has made guest apperances in Wolf's Shadow of the Torturer and Gibson's Idoru...

The Da Vinci Code - Dan Brown I actually lost track of this book for a little while but now I'm back into it again.
Also reading New Moon by Stephanie Meyer. For the record I DESPISE Twilight! I'm just reading if for the lulz.

American Gods by Gaiman. Doesn't matter how many times I read it, that book holds up...
Hey Vaco, how is Pygmy?
