The thing I like most about the game honestly is that it roots itself very firmly in the universe of the comics, rather than the movies. But it doesn't latch itself to any particular arc. For instance, it keeps in saying that "The Killing Joke" is cannon, in that it explains Oracle's origins to Joker's paralyzing her. Also it mentions the failed comedian bit for an excuse to his origins, as a possibility, also from The Killing Joke.
But it also doesn't stick TOO closely to this, leaving room for more comic territory to be crossed over. I think that's great.
I'd be EXTREMELY happy if they included bits of Two Face's "Jekyll and Hyde" origins, rather than sticking straight to "The Long Halloween" version. Two Face has always been my favorite Batman villain, and Jekyll and Hyde really helped to support that.

Great, I knew Id enjoy the demo which has led to the inevitable 'wait', but I dont wanna!!! I love the graphics, the style, the tone. Its very Batman indeed. The character design kind of reminds me of a Alex Ross/Tim Bradstreet feel, which is very cool indeed. Now, the gameplay....the bit that had/has me worried. It could be Ive been playing to much Splinter Cell recently, or I just havnt got hang of the controls, or the demo could be a bit buggy. Either way I struggled a bit through multiple playthroughs, but hopefully come release day I will have the controls down :-) Best Batman game since Returns on the SNES?? Its looking promising. I have the special edition on order, I really want that Notebook!!!(Also, I think Im falling in love with Harley Quinn!) Toadkiller Dog - Dunno about you but in one of the trailers when Bane said he was going to "break the Bataman" I got chills....Is Two-Face in it? I know so far I have seen Killer Croc (looks like the version from Hush), Bane, Poisen Ivy, Joker, Harley Quinn. @vaco - Im liking the combat too. Nice and punchy, also the animations are sweet, and I like me some slo mo arm breaking lol Now I know Im being overly fannish, but how cool would the PS3 version be if the playable Joker had an alternate outfit as the Red Hood? I mean, Im sure Batman will have alternate attire, so why not Joker?

I haven't heard anything offical about Two-Face being in the game, but sites like IMDB and wikipedia have a voice acting credit to him (but then again, there IMDB and wikipedia). They might just be taking the voice actors names from TAS and putting them there pre-emptivly.
Played the demo over twice, Its really short, and but i suppose it is only meant to tease us. Still, a challenge room wouldn't have gone a stray. Like the inverted takedown, and stalking the enemies from up high. I'm pretty cool with the controls, only problem i've really had is holding R1 instead of R2 when i go to do a takedown. Couple of times i've gone flying off to the roof instead of knocking em out cold. Hanging out for the end of the month now. Think i'll be ordering the special edition.

Pretty sure Two Face will be in the game. Also Scarecrow has been announced, and looks totally badass. The Red Hood costume would be sick, I gotta admit. As for Batman, if I could pick any off the wall costume for him, it'd be his badass mechanical suit from The Dark Knight Returns, the one he used to fight Superman in.
Praying that Catwoman makes an appearance in this too, but I don't know that she will. She has no place in Arkham.
And yeah, I've had the special edition preordered for a bit now. Can't wait.

Finally got around to pre-ordering the game today. Dosent come out localy till the 3rd. so 2 weeks still.
Reviews are coming out, highly positive. I've read two, one had some issues about the boss fights. They compleated it in about 12 hours, doing all riddler puzzels and such.

So its out. What does everyone think? Its pretty good. The combat is good, but I'm not that good at it Biggest combo I got is 18. I don't know how I'm gonna get that 40x combo trophy I also did laughable in the Challenge room. I did better with the Joker than I did Batman. Awh, well. I like it. I'll just have to practice

I have only watched as KAOz played it all through so far so i cannot comment on how it felt, though it looked decently fluid and easy to get into control-wise. I must say that it surpassed every expectation i had for it actually. The story mode was ace, imo it really looked and felt like a batman game should, in the way the combat worked especially. The baddies were poifect (even Harley was pretty spot-on despite her less-than-great costume redesign), and when Scarecrow was hanging around by golly was i a happy bunny. The cameos/references to numerous Gothamite faves (as well as the way they managed to use aspects of many kickass Batman storylines and incarnations) are really fun to find, the batsuit and its' more funky than expected arsenal are deliciously batty, and the Riddler challenges and the dude himself play wonderfully throughout the game. Seriousleh, i enjoyed watching every bit of it and when i eventually have enough time to pick up the controller myself i shall be all over it like James on a poop-encrusted wallet. Oh, and i really love how the Joker dlc plays too, his moves are brilliantly...erm...Jokerey.XP

I'll just have to practice Since you are about as big of a Trophy trollop as I am, I can acctually give you some tips. I thought the 40+ Combo would be impossible aswell, but it all clicked for me yesterday. When it comes to the 40+ Combo, best place to do it on is the Challenge Room: Sewer Bat (Extreme) 1st round. Trust me, it is easy there. Just make sure you got all upgrades from the Single Player so making combos is easier. I learned to never spam the Attack Button, just click it once or twice, and be ready to dodge, then tilt the control-stick in the direction of the next enemy while pressing attack. Batman will automatically jump there and kick his ass. Keep going, and you'll get it. I managed to get it, and the "Do All Possible Combos" in the same go. Otherwise, FUCKING AWESOME game. Love the animations and how you acctually feel like the goddamn Batman all the time. Story-telling is great, Riddler-challenges kick ass, but, I got a little gripe with Batmans voiceacting though. I know it's Kevin Conroy and all, but still. =/ Kickasssssssss. Love it and would love to see a non-rushed sequel coming out. I would also like to see Rocksteady's take on horror after this game. Also, game would be Game of the Year if Alfred was playable. He is THE man as everyone knows.

Maybe Alfred is the free DLC touted in the games start screen Yeah, I'm not very far in the main game yet. Only a few upgrades yet. One thing that took me by surpirse was the Jokers voice acting. It is SPOT ON!! It fits him perfectly. EDIT Thanks for the tip, KAOz. I shall try it

Luke Skywalker has been voicing Batman for over a decade, and no matter how much I appreciated Ledger's Joker performance; I couldn't shake the feeling that "This just doesn't sound like the Joker."
Conroy's Batman is also the ONLY voice I consider to belong to Bats as well.

Luke Skywalker has been voicing Batman for over a decade, and no matter how much I appreciated Ledger's Joker performance; I couldn't shake the feeling that "This just doesn't sound like the Joker." Conroy's Batman is also the ONLY voice I consider to belong to Bats as well. I think I just fell in love with you. My brother and I say the same thing EVERY time. Mark Hammell IS THE JOKER. I mean.. take his voice, put it in the Dark Knight? >> might've actually made it better I mean.. don't get me wrong. ledger was great. But... that LAUGH. You can't fake Mark's laugh.. and god damn is it creepy. To think that that man has a lisp x-x and yet he's a brilliant voice actor. and Batman? there is no other batman for me. My brother and I were like, cheering when we heard him talk. It was like, giggles.. and we kept going "it's batman!" because it's the batman we grew up watching on tv. and furthermore? did you SEE Croc? now, I have an odd love for obscure villains in Batman.. >> everyone loves Joker or Two-Face, Riddler and Poison Ivy... I like harley, croc, and Arnold Wesker (I think he may actually be my favorite villain.. he's sort of just.. not mean.. but misunderstood and in need of help ). I even like the Mad Hatter ; but.. yeah. I dunno if any of them will be in the game. I mean, obviously Harley is.. you can't have Joker without his stalker. I mean.. side kick~ (just doesn't sound right without hearing "Mista J~" all the time haha) But CROC... OH GOD CROC. My brother and I stared and then my brother, ever quiet and stoic just goes "...... I'm going to have to fight that..... shit." I'm fairly certain (we're not far. he plays after work and I watch) that Clayface (another obscure favorite) will be in it. Seems they're putting everyone in it (Bane? epic.. he's intelligent, super strong xD and broke batman's BACK) and who is excited that they have the Oracle in it? we weren't sure people would get it. But at soon as that first call was made we were like "OMFG IT TAKES PLACE AFTER THE KILLING JOKE!? OMFG! OMFG! BATGIRL IS ORACLE!" they went all out on this game. it makes me SO happy. xD;;; sorry for the little rant. This game is making me so happy.. hahahah! if anyone knows if any of my other favorites are in it, let me know. I think Wesker might be a bit too obscure, but the only thing I'm pulling for is that I KNOW he's in the Asylum (it's where he goes after batman catches him). I just don't know if he's dead in this story line or not (technically there's a new ventriloquist.. starts with an R. Riley or something. so I dunno if Wesker would even make the cut)

Sooo. Regarding the ending Whose hand did you get? I got Scarecrow
I knida hope there is a sequel, I mean they set it up for one with the Titan stuff wearing off on Joker. Also I know this is supposedly Hamills last time as joker but if there is a sequel (there will be), I hope he comes back. As well as the dude who did batman
