www.carloslabs.com/node/16This thing uses Google Maps to simulate the damage to a given area from a variety of nuclear weapons developed in the past 60 or so years. I selected Boston and hit it with a Little Boy. I live about 20 miles away and it looks like I'd be just fine. I worked my way up, eventually getting to the Tsar Bomba which ended with my jaw on the floor and me saying "Hoe-lee shit!" An asteroid impact is just funny.

Geez, the Tsar Bomba is ridiculous. This thing is great for making you afraid of nuclear holocausts again. Thanks. Btw, how do they test these bombs? Surely they can't just go blasting them away at a desert or something, right? Because even if a desert, it would be an enormous area contaminated by radiation for probably decades to come.

I know they used to test these in the American Southwest. And the Pacific Ocean. And Underground in the Southwest.
As for the Russians, they always had alot of Siberia and open spaces in general.
The other countries have much smaller weapons that would (and have) been easier to test since they have a blast radius smaller then Rhode Island...
But yeah, all of these scare me...

Because even if a desert, it would be an enormous area contaminated by radiation for probably decades to come. They test them by, well....testing them.XD France were notorious for their prolific bomb tests over the ocean (in the UK at least...i figured everyone else might've noticed too..>_>) And in the US i had assumed that everyone was aware of why most of the nevada desert doesn't get used for more than dusty stock footage filming.XP There are a great many vids and photo collections one can find of many tests, they are disturbingly beautiful in some cases, but still never cease to be chilling and damn depressing imo. :/ www.youtube.com/watch?v=ca4D0-s8OsI&feature=channel_page^Both American www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8yvZ7pIZns^ French www.youtube.com/watch?v=BuX5xug9prk&feature=related^Chinese No wonder the ocean is filled with such freakyass squiggley things..o-o; Still...nothing man-made matches up to the asteroid-shaped doom on this thing (YET.*shudder*) , that has to be the most fun to play with.

I didn't want to believe, but I guess I have no choice. They contaminate huge areas by testing bombs. I knew it. Damn it. >_>
This all should be illegal...
