Whoa, this came out of nowhere. Duke Nukem developer 3D Realms has abruptly closed its doors.

Me, I'm shocked they were able to stay in business for this long. Well at least now there is a definate record for vaporware. Let's see if Alan Wake can beat it...

Wait...what? But Duke Nukem wants to be Chuck Norris, he can't die! He can only be horribly mutilated! T_T

Looks like we'll never see Duke Nukem Forever. HAHAHAHAHAHA Apparently Take-Two interactive now has the publishing rights to Duke Forever, so it's still a good possibility.

What did they publish in the last 10 years? I have no idea. XD
I'd love if DNF were released. But I doubt it...
And I do hope Alan Wake doesn't turn out to be the next DNF. :/

The key word here is "publishing," not "development," so it's only relevant if the game's done. Duke Nukem Forever done. Yeeeeeeaaaaaah, like that'll happen. Also, as far as I last read, the former heads of 3D Realms still own the development rights to DNF, but I can't seem to find the source of that and it annoys the hell out of me.

Various screenshot and concep art pieces were released in the past few days, it looks like DNF might still see the light of day if someone picks it up.
ps: Alone, you win +10 points in my book for your Osaka avatar.

Ars Technica has a good write-up about some of the speculation. ps: Alone, you win +10 points in my book for your Osaka avatar. Thanks. It's Osaka as Spider Jerusalem, just in case you couldn't tell.

Alone: I have no idea who Spider Jerusalem is. Now, news: I've seen somewhere that 3D Realms didn't really shut down, only fired some employees. They had some restructuring going on. I think it was on Kotaku. So yeah, Duke Forever is still "alive" (at least as much as it was before )
