Hopefully, this will be much better than Land of the Dead. The only thing I don't really like about Romero's zombies is that, despite them being walking, rotting, corpses, they have the ability to relearn, thus making them more human.

Can't wait for his pompus new trailer EDIT Don't get me wrong. I like his movies. But I can't stand his whole "I invented Zombies and I dictate what Zombies can and cannot do.Waaaahhhh!!!" attitude

Really creative title. =P
I hope it's good. Didn't love Land of the Dead, but his flicks are fun. I'm not the biggest fan though, I like the movies but they get cheesy at some parts, but I know it's part of what it is. I just prefer my horror to be more serious. But hey, fun is always good in my book. : )

I never noticed Romero being a dick about the whole zombie thing o.O Point to Links of Evidence whenever you happen to chance by one I like to be educated about such things...

This set in a more western theme then? Interesting. I like his movies well enough, haven't disliked too many of them.

movies.yahoo.com/movie/1808405693/trailer'This summer an all new cycle of horror begins as legendary filmmaker George A. Romero returns to the genre he created.' Yeah, thats not pompous at all www.nwanews.com/adg/Style/228112/Interview about him bitching about fast moving zombies. Short answer: Their ankles would break My take on zombies is this: if you're killed by a zombie. Initially, you're gonna haul ass. You're fresh, you've just been killed. Once decomposition sets in THEN you'll start to shamble like Romero's zombies I did like Diary of The Dead. But I'm partial to first person / camera movies (Cloverfield/Blair Witch)

Well, yeah fast movie zombies would only work while still fresh. But the only movies with fast moving "zombies" I know about are the 28 Days Later and it's sequel. But they're not "zombies" per se, only infected people. Hrmm...
The last zombie movie I watched and liked was Dawn Of The Dead, remake. I'll look for Diary of The Dead.

I'm not so convinced Romero is all that good a director. Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead were ok, but the rest of the series just weren't that good at all. In my opinion, he did the whole zombie thing first, but he didn't do it all that well.

Except that dumb-ass zombie planet one with the zombie messiah... Was that Land of the Dead?
And I'd like to toss my hat in the "what would zombies really be like?" ring and bring up hopping ghosts
I'm a huge fan of HK cinema and even though they're usually downright cheesy, I love hopping ghost movies!
For those of you not down with the genre- Chinese zombies don't shuffle, they hop (due to rigor mortis) and you'd think this makes them slow and easy to avoid, but you'd be wrong. DEAD WRONG
They also don't eat brains, they suck chi. They're blind, but for some reason can smell or otherwise track breath (chi)
Don't ask me why but they totally can't find you if you are underwater or sometimes even wet (which sets you up for the bit where the guy has to whiz on his buddy or girlfriend)
Sound compelling? Then get out there and rent yourself a hopping ghost flick this weekend!

alx... first of all, I'll like to say to you that I... GREW UP WATCHING HOPPING CORPSES!!! OMG, how I absolutely adore them. You remember that priest with the moustache and sword made out of coins from most of the films? He was my childhood hero and he kept my kiddy world safe. Vaco Deus: thanks for the links! I read the interview. You know, I totally agree that the new dead would be fast and the rigor mortified would shamble... Also Mr. Romero appears to have not noticed that the 'zombies' in 28 Days Later aren't really zombies... a point which Blackswordsman has made quite succintly One thing I agree with Mr. Romero, though for a different reason... Zack Synder's movie sucked ass. I hated it. Possibly the best part about it was when some guy shouted, "IT'S A TWITCHER!!!" the rest, meh... on his directing skillz, well, I won't comment until I've seen a non-zombie movie by him lol... heard many good things about Martin but can't for the life of me find it anywhere.

Hopefully, this will be much better than Land of the Dead. The only thing I don't really like about Romero's zombies is that, despite them being walking, rotting, corpses, they have the ability to relearn, thus making them more human. That's what I find the most terrifying thing about them. They have the capacity to work things out which makes them harder to evade. Like that biggun' in Land Of The Dead that blows the car up using petrol.
