A scene from Rocko's modern life, how the hell did this get pass the censors?

Why? He's just talking about rainbows. Man, I love this show. There are so so so many dirty jokes hidden within it. There's one episode where he has a buoy in his shorts, and then just a few moments later he's riding a beaver.

I never really watched this cartoon but I must admit, this was interesting. I miss the times when cartoons were like this, now they're all lame and politically correct.

"I meant dolls! Er, no not dolls . . ."
Young kids today can have their SpongeBob. Rocko's Modern Life was the hotness. Cartoons in general were better in the '90s, really.

I remember Rocko. Never really liked it, in general I respect the originality of the 90's cartoons and how they seem a tad more interesting than your average CN/Nick show nowadays, but I always felt they were just too "decadent" in their premises to really enjoy them as a child. Kind of felt like I was watching Mad TV, or some other show inspired on the uber depressing urban life presented by the early 90's rock.
The sole exception to that: Ren & Stimpy... Now that was seriously good.

I always liked Rocko, but I loved Ren and Stimpy

No sir, I didn't like it.

This really makes me (almost) want to go back and see how much more was so blatantly thrown out to soak into our little heads. Oh, television. So poisonous. Let us not forget, though, what moments Looney Toons gave us to laugh over. And really, if Rocko's was into "gay bashing", the extreme opposite would be ol' Bugs Bunny and his antics. Cross-dressing, kissing Elmer and a few others, and you know, nevermind the racism, right? What gems of childhood.

I hated Speedy Gonzales, running around shouting Ariba, Ariba! That Virgin advert only makes me loathe him more.

The original Elmer Fudd was far worse than Speedy ever could have been. Still, I can see why there'd be some aversion. At least Fudd got a makeover, Speedy kind of always kept the same. To think that Jerry from Tom & Jerry half the time took a backseat to such a marketing ploy.

That reminds me, we don't really see much of Speedy Gonzales anymore... Cartoon Network has the US rights, and hardly ever airs them (and outright banned them fron 1999-2002) because they believe them to be far too ethnically stereotypical. Meanwhile, the character remains popular in Mexico.

Meanwhile, the character remains popular in Mexico.[/quote] That seems very wrong.
