I'm actually very much enjoying this. It's quite well put together. Although of course by default, I'm a SH fan and don't agree with everything completely (isn't that part of being an SH fan though?).
Only thing I remember right now which I was curious about is the drug 'white claudia'.
Correct me if I'm wrong (anyone) but isn't white claudia the plant the drug comes from and the drug itself called PTV? For the life of me though, I can't remember where I seen the name PTV come from.
I just know it's a reference to the band Psychic TV just like the Portishead and Sonic Youth references in the game.
I'll have to send in the question if no one can show me if I'm right or wrong on this one.

Yup, PTV is the drug, obtained from White Claudia. There's an article about it in the hotel near the aglaophotis. Gonna watch this when I find the time.

I think you're getting PTV from the chalkboard in the police station of the first game... if my memory serves me right.

Yeah, I disagreed with some things in here as well. Disagreed because they are opinions and not always fact. I really enjoyed the video, but I think calling it a documentary and concluding that a well argued theory is a fact is where I started to lose interest.
For example (might as well back up what I'm saying), in the Shattered Memories section:
"Hey, lots of people think the chase sequences are scary." "OK. That doesn't mean that they are. In fact, none of the game is scary in the slightest."
(Probably paraphrased, but I think it's pretty accurate)
I'm not even saying I was scared by the chase sequences, but I thought there wasn't much logic in this argument, at least.
But I do hate being critical. The fact that there exists such a well-made Silent Hill analysis is pretty exciting and I did have a great time watching it. Looks like a lot of effort has been put into it.

I finished the whole thing, but once they got to the movie and later games I started to disagree a lot. They seemed to dislike these things from the get-go, and then they started to get more opinionative than anything.

I really did enjoy the 'experience'. It was well argued, clever and sometimes funny.
But like many, I started to get a bit annoyed once they got to the movie, while still appreciating it.
I appreciated them telling us how the later Silent Hills shouldn't be considered canon. They made some good arguments and backed with facts.
What I didn't appreciate is the arrogant elitist attitudes they sometimes took up to prove those points.
However, this is Silent Hill and by nature, inevitable.
What I would have enjoyed is if they took the time to properly explain the later Silent Hills and how they DO fit into the canon as well. That was something I was interested and looking forward to.
I'm sure their argument would simply be, 'they don't'.
Like it or not, other than Shattered Memories, they're part of the regular canon. You can personally disagree and negate them from your personal canon, but they're there.
So, while I enjoy this 'real' Silent Hill experience and it's well thought out, argued and enjoyable, it's not quite as 'real' as I was looking for.
I was hoping to someday point some of my friends towards this documentary as a way of explaining the series and background.
It only goes half way as far as I'm concerned.
Regardless of my personal criticism, props to the people who put it together and the time they put into it. It does take some balls to take that kind of stand in the Silent Hill community, given how anal retentive so many fans can be.
I'll probably watch it again some day. It's an especially good refresher for the first 4 games.

Yeah, I agree with pretty much what tabris said. I posted a tl;dr review of this here: alchemillahospital.net/rshe-review/and discussed it on my podcast: alchemillahospital.net/alchemilla-radio-podcast-1/but overall, my complaint was i was expecting a neutral documentary, and some of the review-ish parts didn't fit in well with what i was expecting (i.e., being nonbiased). Other than that, I enjoyed watching it. I don't have to agree with every little thing in it to be able to enjoy it, but I do think I'd have enjoyed it more without some of the attitude. yes, some was supposed to be humor, but some parts still rubbed me the wrong way.

Well they are fans, what did you expect? most fans are very opinonated, I knew they would be from the start which is why I didn't bother wacthing all of it, plus that "REAL" is annoying me, they are not Team Silent, there's nothing more real about their take on the games than my own
