Looking good so far, though of course it's too early to tell with any kind of precision.
About having no school or hospitals... I can't believe I'm saying this, but I... like that. The past games all felt like a reheash, going to the same places. I remember the first few original games had a sense of wonder, when I entered someplace. The school and hospital were memorable in the first, the second and third to a lesser extent. I got in wondering what will I find there, how different it will be. But since then... It all felt the same. I discovered I got tired of always going to the same places. Always a hospital. Maybe a school. Etc. No matter if they had different monsters and puzzles, it still felt... forced.
Having all new locations to meet and explore is a huge plus for me.
About the monsters, I'm expecting they will be mostly human related. After all, he's in jail... And I don't think it's because of any conflit agains animals.
That one looks like a zombie but I'm sure the others will be different. These reminds me of the ghosts from SH4, and I'm OK with that, as long as they're not immortal and keep going after you and drain you HEALTH BY SIMPLY STANDING NEAR YOU AAAAAAAAAARGGGhh!!!!...Er, I'm sorry...
ps: in that article people telling the game to go f* itself because SH is a small backwater town and can't have no buildings like that or a subway system.
I think these supposed real fans are underestimating the resort town a bit. I mean, we never saw everything, and there were always apartment buildings and stores. I'ts not like it's a lost village or anything. I don't get it.
