New RE title on the horizon for Fall 2011 for both the PS3 and 360. You're the bad guys this time around! You play as members of Umbrella's private army and your goal is to destroy evidence and kill T-Virus survivors. You'll also be competing with US Government Special Forces and Umbrella's own nasty creations. You can choose 4 characters to play as, each with their own missions. So either it's a rip off of Left 4 Dead where all 4 characters are together or its a solo go. (I'm rooting for the latter) www.vg247.com/2011/03/24/report-resident-evil-racoon-city-announced-in-us-oxm/Also, Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil - CODE: Veronica are getting HD remakes and being released on PSN and XBLA www.joystiq.com/2011/03/24/resident-evil-4-code-veronica-hd-downloads/

Sound like Outbreak 3 to me Yes it does, and that makes my fucking week. I LOVED the Outbreak games when I played them online, offline with AI they were shit. But online they were amazingly fun.

Sound like Outbreak 3 to me I LOVE the Outbreak series for some reason. It's not the zombie apocalypse till you have to kill a zombie elephant!

Thing I like about Outbreak is you were playing everyday people, not super soldier, commando badasses. Banding together with other normal people trying to survive, I loved it. And this one on modern consoles where online is much more important and easier to use...this one is gonna kick serious ass. Good multiplayer team working on it too.

I don't know how i like some of the things I've read about the game. With all the 'factions' and character specific abilities. I read one article that mentioned a character would be able to 'cloak' and run around the enemy once they've leveled up. Sounds like a competitive online shooter to me.

My prayers have been answered! I can finally rid the world of Ashley once and for all!
This sounds rather interesting. I like that they're doing something different with the series by giving you the opportunity to play as the villains. I'm also eager to see what they do with the character missions. It's nice to know each character will have different goals during the game.

Some new information and scans I do like the idea of learning more about Mr. X ------- - One of the main missions of the game is to “kill Leon” thus signifying the ability to change the history of Resident Evil. - You’re able to use enemies (like zombies) as cover even while moving. - Like other third-person shooters you’ll also be able to take cover behind objects like stationary vehicles. - The game will pay respects to the classic titles (Resident Evil 2 and 3) by bringing back that sense of horror that’s been missing. - The base inspiration for the foundation of the game is noted as being Resident Evil 2. - We’ll get more insight towards Mr. X before he was sent to Raccoon City to pursue Leon/ Claire. - Leon is your main prey throughout the game (in regards to the USS team) - Previous controls have been abandoned in place for a more modern control set akin to today’s third-person shooters. - Capcom is behind such a change in game-play and this is why they approached Slant Six over the development of such a project. - As aforementioned you’ll be able to grab enemies and use them as cover which will add to the game’s team-based strategic style. - We’re going to get a very dark look at the classic city in the game with new and iconic locales. - The end of the demo showed off a battle with Mr. X. - The USS team takes their inspiration largely from Mr. Death himself, the 4th survivor Hunk. The team is also situated on Rockfort Island which is another locale fans recognize. - Hunters and Lickers are confirmed and they’ll be able to also mow down zombies if they’re in the way of their destruction. - Operation Raccoon City will let players see the story of the Resident Evil universe (pre-RE4) from a whole new perspective. - Shooting lights will be one of the mechanics in the game and doing so will help you stay clear of zombies due to them being attracted to said light. - Environments will have destructible objects for you to use agains the hordes of zombies. - Capcom remains silent over topics relating to the game’s multiplayer mode and what other surprises the game’s story may have for players. We’ll likely hear more about this game at E3 so stay tuned. ------- Scans

Sounds really intresting, I always loved the Raccoon city location. But why exactly is Leon a prime target for the USS team? I know they are out to get surviors but I don't see why a Rookie cop on his first day out would be a concern. unless of course this is like an Terminator sceneario and these guys are in fact from the future out to kill Leon's past self so he woulden't interfere in the future mabye that's why they are at Rockfort Island months later, to snuff out Claire and Chris and so prevent Resident evil 5 from happening

Given the developer, I'd almost promise it will control like the SOCOM series.

Yeah it's obvious that Capcom is suffering from Left 4 Dead envy.
Outbreak suffered from all sorts of proublems (especially the little fuck up concerning the European release which had no online feature) and So now that Valve came along and made fools out of Capcom by making an successcful online game first time round, now Capcom has to resort to stealing their ideas.

I like Resident Evil's universe much better the drab, bland L4D universe, so that's quite ok for me. I actually rather LOVED Outbreak when played online though personally.
