Yeah it's obvious that Capcom is suffering from Left 4 Dead envy. Outbreak suffered from all sorts of proublems (especially the little fuck up concerning the European release which had no online feature) and So now that Valve came along and made fools out of Capcom by making an successcful online game first time round, now Capcom has to resort to stealing their ideas. I like Resident Evil's universe much better the drab, bland L4D universe, so that's quite ok for me. I actually rather LOVED Outbreak when played online though personally. Well I am sure it was all well and good for those with the choice of online play, I woulden't know as indicated in my last post the first european release didn't have it. And the second one had it's online play removed shortly after release. I am forced to conclude that the game series was a failure at least in the Europran market as they didn't provide us with a full product, they gave us a half product with the purpose removed. I am just saying Capcom has alot of making up to do, at least for me that is. And so far ripping ideas from L4D (the online game that didn't screw me over) isn't making me any more sympathetic towards the company

I'm still kind of excited about this. I don't own an Xbox and because of Microsoft's allergy to multi-platforming, I've never had the chance to play L4D. This will be a compensation of sorts.

.....High priority target: First day on the job new in town whippersnapper rookie cop in sweats. I'm sorry but, come again? Okay granted, retconnage can and probably shall alter that. And for all the cringing some of the stuff in the trailer provokes in me, I would probably still have to play it. It doesn't look bad, but it'd be nice someday to see a RE title that actually feels like a true survival horror game again.

I don't like the word 'retcon'
Got thrown around WAY too much when MGS4 first came out (thats another issue)
Granted the plot isn't known but I wouldn't call this a retcon, more like an alternative universe/story. A 'what if' scenario, Like if the South won the American Civil War
re: old school RE I'd LOVE a RE2 remake like RE1 for the Gamecube
Prerendered backgrounds and fixed camera angles and all. That'd be so nice

In this case, I frankly hope this ISN'T like a traditional RE game. I've been longing for a good online, multiplayer RE game since Outbreak 2, and this might finally fit the bill.
No surprise that this looks like a SOCOM game, gameplay wise. And I'm quite ok with that. Smooth 3rd person shooter controls will work much better than clunky RE4-5 controls in this type of game.

E3 TrailerAll CG, no gameplay. Still looks alright. Some of the characters look like they got a redesign and it also looks like they added a new fifth character. She's seen in the very beginning extracting a virus sample

The entire team of USS goes after Leon but ignore Claire? Umbrella's attempts of killing survivors are a bit on the inconsistant side.

Always hated countdown timers in games so ... meh. Anyone know what the timer is actually for? Do you get game over when it reaches zero?
Otherwise it looks like a fun action game, just not a good RE game ... shame.

I think the timer was for the demo. When it reaches zero the demo is over.
I THINK. Could be entirely wrong though.
I feel the same way about timers. Like in the Outbreak series. Your timer was your infection level. It just makes me antsy when there is a timer involved. I want to enjoy the game on my own pace

Well if that's the case I bet these guys will be kicking themselves months later for letting her go because Claire proves to be much more of a threat than Leon, she caused alot of trouble at Unbrella's Paris facility.
