Grand Theft Auto V AnnouncedKinda surprised. Thought they'd do the number, then two other locations, then number VI (III, VC, SA, IV) I hope its not as serious as GTAIV

Be interesting to see how the announcement effects the news over the next few weeks. If they keep a steady stream of details, with the Trailer launching next week, and maybe some articles the next, it could take away a lot of attention from the AAA titles launching in that period. I kinda hope they incorporate features from games they've released since. Love to ride though a bustling metropolis on a horse, or investigate a crime scene to help finish a mission. Then again, i hope they give you some options when playing it. I've though for awhile now, that its cool when games involved some sort of social-simulation into the game, but it could be good to have a 'arcade/action' mode option that strips/waters down those features. Then again, i've wanted to see that in a Spider-man game.

I thought R* was treating people like idiots spelling out the fact that V is the roman numeral for 5. (lets face it, kids today aren't the brightest) but it turns out it could be revealing GTAV's time periodIt'd be cool if they incorporate stuff from Red Dead Redemption or LA Noire but I'm sure R* will do their own thing. I'm just hoping for something more in the vein of the earlier GTA's. IV had a great storyline but it could've used from humor

Not terribly excited, the only GTA I liked was Chinatown Wars. It was the only one I could play as a linear game and still have fun. I even liked the graphics better than the ps2 games. I'll hold out and see if there's ever a sequel to that.

I'm excited to see where this could go. But I also know the development cycle of a Rockstar game and don't expect to play it until at least 2013, if even on this generation of consoles.

I'm looking forward to this. GTA has never disappointed me. The only ones I haven't played are London 1969/61

I expect it to be an entirely new character.
I've heard some rumors about multiple protagonists, so who knows?
