I can't wait. Though I also don't know how they'll cram all of the novel in one movie. They'll obviously cut a lot out, so people should be prepared for that. They should have made 2 movies, but then for a project like this, it'd probably be too risky. :/

Saw it today. Not a masterpiece, but decent. It had good moments, most coming from Rorschach. I liked the Star Trek trailer.

Saw it yesterday and I really enjoyed it. A few moments seemed to drag on a little too long, but apart from that I'd say it was a decent film and a nice change when compared to other superhero films.
Rorschach was definitely a favourite character and had some pretty good lines. I'd give the film another watch, but when it got to the 2hour mark it felt like my lower spine was going to collapse due to sitting in a cinema seat for so long.

Amazingly faithful to the book. Once again, I was shocked to see how much information you can actually convey in a rapid fire montage...
Also, very layered; smothered in detail. Did anyone else notice that Rorschach's mask had a frown when he was being taunted by the harlot?
Of course, my date's favorite parts all involved Dr. Manhattan's dangling glow-in-the-dark willy. So now I have to nip on down to the chemist's and get some blue condoms for her

I caught it last night and really enjoyed it. I didn't mind the changes so much as I think the basic idea is important and still relatively intact. Snyder definitely gets an A for effort here. I think the film is 100% fanservice, and might be a bit much for Joe and Jane Moviegoer - there were quite a few people giggling whenever Manhattan's electro-junk was on screen and every time they showed Richard Nixon (can't explain that one). I'm glad the sexuality was kept intact and Silk Spectre was very pretty! My only wish was that they kept the scene from the comic's end - the four page montage of all the bodies and blood, which really makes Ozymandias' plot all the more horrifying. And Dan's dream sequence was perfectly visualized. I would really like to see it again

I would totally do Nite Owl II.
That is all for now.

Awesome film. Anything but a happy film though. The sex scenes were cheesy. The first one is funny because of a "problem" but the second one was just a big joke really, because of the music choice. Lame choice in my opinion but well, whatever. The rest of the movie was well put together I really like the 1940's costumes a lot. Awesome stuff there. The modern costumes were cool too.

Hoping to see this Saturday, as I'm a HUGE fan of the graphic novel. And I already know I'll love it, even if only based on the fellow who plays rorschach's voice. So perfect. He was always my favorite character.

Lame choice in my opinion but well, whatever. People are so divided on this. I liked the music choice, personally, because Hallelujah is a song purely about sex - if they'd chosen a love song, it would have felt cheesy. Or maybe I was just entranced by Patrick Wilson's gorgeous backside. I don't know

and every time they showed Richard Nixon (can't explain that one). His face was ridiculous! His nose looked totally fake. Like little to no effort was put on the makeup. Worse parts of the movie for me.

Nixon's meant to be more or less a caricature, which is why his nose was exaggerated.

I have not yet seen the movie, or read the comics for that matter, but after seeing this; I feel that the movie has a whole lot to live up to.

Saw it last week, but I haven't given a review because I wanted to sit back and reflect on it before I gave a honest opinion.
As a whole, I loved the movie, everything that was faithful to the book were amazing, although Dr. Manhattan's full monty was a bit awkward. If I find fault with anything, it was the last act.
I couldn't stand Veidt's accent by the time it got to that and it made it hard to really get into what he was saying. Also, the end felt rushed, especially the news segments, there should have been more to show that it was worldwide feeling of fear for Manhattan as well as more carnage to all the destroyed cities. Another thing, I'd love to have seen Veidt be more excited to see that his plan worked, just like he seemed in the comic, although the more mournful approach in the moive could fit too, but it made me hate him less.
Another thing about the third act and the movie in general was the exclusion of the "pedestrians" as I call them, the characters that occupy the newsstand that Rorschach frequents. Although the characters are minimum, their impact is major in the ending before the coming destruction. It's a metaphor for the story in general when in the comic, most of these small non-superhuman characters come to help another person in danger, only to be wiped out by Veidt's plan. A great point that should have been included but wasn't, but am hopeful to see in the extended DVD cut.
About the love scene... I figure most people think it's awkward because of the facial expressions and the long cuts of just staying on them. I just felt the director was trying to portray the love scene as sex between two normal people and not the typical hero movie love scene between the hero and heroine. It would explain why Snyder avoided the typical love scene stereotypes (quick cuts and non goofy expressions).
Besides the final act, I also found the revelation of Laurie's parentage was not as well done. It could have been exactly like the comic and have been even more of a surprise to Manhattan, leading to the decision he makes in that segment.
All the actors were amazing, especially Rorschach, love the actor who plays him now. Seeing his pics in RL, I had doubts, but he has an amazing transformation and is quite scary.
And might I add, all the extended fight scenes were, how can I put it... Sparta-ish? ;D Not that I'm complaining, thinking back on it, I'm glad he decided to crank up the action. Wil be looking forward to the DVD and I'd recommend the movie to anyone who wanted a smart, multi-layered superhero movie.

Or maybe I was just entranced by Patrick Wilson's gorgeous backside. I don't know i'm another person that didn't like the music choices. In geneal it didn't feel right to me (except 'the times are-a changing' for the OC, that was cool). It made some of the scenes feel like they belonged in some Teen drama. The music almost became the focus in those points, over powering anything going on in it. Film wasn't too bad. i don't think the Comedian felt as present in the film as he did in the book and that bothered me a little. And i'll probably need to see it again to understand how the alternate endings fits together. I was a little dissapointed with some of the things they changed . Everyone seemed to know how Jon experiences time. That changed a few parts of the story around, including the latter parts on Mars. That brings another point, while i was thrilled to see 'chapter 4' play out, It created a inconsistancie in the film. In a book you can change narrators around each chapter and it dosent break the flow much at all (if at all), but it seemed to do that in the film. I'm not a huge fan of the Graphic Novel, i only read it in January, i liked it well enough. I'll probably see the film again on dvd.

Yeah, other than Manhattan's elephant impression, I think the film was surprisingly well done. I also agree with Pirate Monkey that Nite Owl 2 was just plain awful...
Really was a shame that they had to ditch the pirate comic parts, but I knew they'd never make it into the film to begin with
