(dammit =_= not much time leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeft..)
James noticed the candles starting to lessen and shuddered.. he was running out of time.
He was quick about the next series of steps he took, not wanting it to be interrupted. Not for a split second. He looked at his relics and inscribed the Night Seal on the altar. With the Obsidian Dagger, he cut his arm and bled into the Obsidian Chalice. He glanced at the candles.. He quickly put the chalice down on the altar and grabbed a candle, placing it on the altar so it could burn.
"You know what I want! You know what I've wanted since I was fucking 4 years old! Bring Lillian Anne Sentzke back to me! Give me my mother!" he shouts, willing the ritual to work. It HAD to work.
(I had to set the altar on fire, but I had no way of doing it OTHER than that. so I dunno if it worked xD; I hope soooo)

Bella turned to see the commotion from James, gasping quietly as he finished the ritual, wishing his mother back to life.
This couldn't work properly...no way it could. This was going to turn out bad, she knew it for sure, but stunned, she continued to gape at the events before her.

OOC: Hey everyone, not connected back, but hope to be by the end of the month. Good job king, or should I say toadkiller, on managing Jim thus far. Guess, I can add in a little bit for today, and assume that Jim reads the same thing on the door as Bella and James. -------------------------------
Hearing James' selfish ranting brought a cease to Jim's tears and he pulled himself together to look at James. The ritual would never work, thought Jim, and if it did, what would be the point. If he remembered correctly, he could call the spirit but it wouldn't be flesh unless their was a person willing to allow it to enter them through another ritual entirely. James would probably be happy just to have his mother back and settle to live in this hellhole, but if not he would want a sacrifice and Jim was sure he would not fit the type of person James would want to play mommy.
If he tried to force Bella or Farrah to take part in the ritual, he'd kill him, without remorse, without reservation. Too many people had been thrown to these gods... no more. Resting his head on Farrah's shoulder, a thought eases from Jim's mind without much effort as he realizes that if he tried it with Farrah, it probably wouldn't work because she was called her herself... and without a body of her own... she couldn't sustain a life outside this place as well.
Looking between Bella and Farrah, Jim began to weigh his options. He wouldn't never hurt Bella, but... to lose Jason and Farrah in the same night... it was too much to bear. He could always take the risk of just going through the door with Farrah, to see if they could leave together, but that filled with dread. He was so undecided.

Bella concentrated, breaking her self inflicted trance and looked over to see Jim, worry and concern in his eyes.
This was bad news, and James was a fool for rushing into this so hastily. What came from this ritual would probably attack them, or somehow James might try to rope one of them into the ritual. Not gonna happen. Bella would have fought tooth and nail for Jason, but she wasn't gonna be a guinea pig for a ritual that would probably fail anyway.
She tried to keep composure, gripping her shotgun tightly, taking a combat stance, ready...waiting for this to blow up right in their faces.
She asked nothing of this place, she had a lost love, but she didn't ask to bring him back from death. She just wanted out and back into reality. To survive, her only goal now. She wasn't sure what'd pulled her into this madness, but she was sure she wanted out.
It dawned on her then... Almost everyone else here had fought for some goal. They'd had some intention of making something seemingly impossible come true. Jordan for his own evil purposes, and more slightly for Riiko. James for his mother, and to a lesser extent, acceptance from his father. Jim for Farrah, chasing a ghost that'd died years before. The others...god...there'd been so many in the beginning when she first showed up in the sauna. She didn't get to know all of them that well, and they got picked off like flies...
But her, her and Jason they were just there...there to survive, possibly escape, and unfortunately for Jason, his chance was gone. But hell...for all she knew she might already be dead. She hadn't exactly lived a safe lifestyle, even after being adopted and reformed into a "normal" person. She risked her life almost every night on the streets pursuing vigilante justice...she could never escape near death situations and violence.
A flutter ran through Bella and she thought about it. She was almost turned on by the thought. She reflected back on times past, but not so long ago. Savagely beating thugs in cluttered alleys alongside members of the network. Sometimes killing them. She'd go home and soak in a hot bath filled with epsom salts. Losing herself to lust, her heart racing, breathing heavy as she...got off to violence. A sadist... Hell....a goddamn sadist... She'd never giving it a lot of thought, though she cried sometimes after a kill. In the end she never flinched in even the most gutwrenching of scenarios...she liked it.
Bella shook the thoughts away. She certainly wasn't an innocent, no wonder Jordan never gave a damn about her. Her could probably read her like an open book. Violence, sex, drugs, death, torture, mayhem...certainly not much use to his ritual.

GAME UPDATE
The smoke from the fire begins to fill the room, eventually it begins to clear. On the Altar is a woman on her side, six months pregnant, with long brown hair matted over her face. James remembers that same posture as the one when she fell down the stairs over a decade ago, and broke her neck, and Christian - his father - at the top of the staircase looking down in disbelief. James was there, he saw what happened, he saw the whole thing. He was four years old. Lillian was pleading for Christian to give up, to turn himself in, so they can live in peace. She told him that their teenage son - James's older brother Thomas - killed himself because of him. And that she had already called the police. Christian lost his temper, cursed at her, and pushed her.
Now here she is brought back to him in a crumpled heap, the exact way James remembers seeing her last.
James runs to her side and cries at the foot of the Altar, after a few minutes, he feels a hand on the side of his face. He angrily swats it away, looks up and sees Lillian siting on the Altar looking down on him.
Lillian: I thought I lost you.
James: ...
Lillian embraces the trembling teenager, and wipes the tears from his eyes.
Lillian: Tommy, I thought I lost you.
The candles are still burning.
________
Farrah (to Jim): Please tell me what is happening, this is all very confusing, I can't take this anymore.
________
James now has Moderate Wounds, and worsening withdrawal symptoms.
As with Farrah, I will be roleplaying Lillian.

It all flooded back in. He remembered it, clear as day. The morning his mother disappeared was now in perspective and it filled James with a sort of bitter sweet feeling now that he could see his mother again.. but all the anger he felt towards his father now were replaced by the fact that he'd succeeded. He'd brought his mother back and she was there, she was real. She was talking to him..
"M-mom...." he finally cried out, throwing his arms around her in a tight hug.. "Mom! I.... I missed you so much!!" God he felt like a child again. He felt like a little kid, lost without his mother to hold his hand. But he supposed maybe that's how he'd always been. He'd always been lost without her, wandering without direction, never allowing himself to go too far, for fear she'd never find him. But here, he was found. Everything in this place was perfect.. Bad people went away and good people stayed. They were allowed to exist... this was either a wonderful place to stay, or a great place to start from.
He allowed himself time to just let it out before pulling back to look his mother in the eyes. "Mom.. it's James.. y-you remember me.. right?" he asked, voice quiet and shaking. Partly from being overwhelmed and partly from feeling just.. horrible from the withdrawal. He wasn't really thinking of those now though. The most important person in his life was with him now after 12 long years. Nothing else mattered to him.

AS LILLIAN "James? You are little James, but you have gotten so big. Oh James, I hate you, I hate you so much that I left you, and it is your fault, it was fault for being such a horrible childCold hands clutch his shoulders as a pit opens up behind them, and both of them fall in. You thought you were rid of me, didn't you, that you would just forget me - that I will just go away, well I am always here, isn't it funny that whenever you think of her, your thoughts eventually wander to me? You know why, because I am in you. You aren't here because you love your mommy, you are here because of me. Face it brat, you're screwed up, your brain is fried, you could have purified me long ago here, you know with the red tablet - you could have exorcised me, stamped me out, and you will be rid of me forever; but instead, you kept me in, reveling in the pain, savoring me. Not even you are stupid enough, not to see this coming, the fact that I was always talking in your ear from the inside, and appear every now and then for you and my idiot brother to kick your collective asses. Wasn't it obvious, that to be rid of me, you take the little red pill like the book said. That part about ridding the person of obsessions, apparitions, and fears. You could have gotten rid of me at any time, and yet you didn't. Face it, you love me.The apparition reels backward, and bursts with cackling laughter, and James's withdrawal symptoms are at their very worst. "Bring my mother back to me!" Oh, she's here, all three of us, we are all one big happy family. With preternatural quickness he runs and knocks James backward, pulls a shotgun from his coat, hits James with the butt of it, and jams the barrel in his mouth. Alright kid, you know what to do._________ James left the Sword of Obedience, Obsidian Goblet, Obsidian Dagger, Seal of the Night on the Altar. The White Chrism, Red Halo of the Sun, Blue Halo of the Sun, and the Ivory Dagger are still on the Altar. James is on his own.

OCC: Hey, as promised, I am back and ready to finish this puppy up. Interesting developments... I'll try and catch up. -------------------------------
Jim watched as James' mother appeared upon the altar and embraced her son. It was an oddly bitter-sweet moment after losing Jason, but he was happy for James, as long as he kept from trying to take Bella or Farrah as a sacrifice to ensure his mother's escape.
Jim turned from the scene as he felt Farrah's hands gripping tightly to his arm. It was obvious that she was deftly afraid and wanted to be assured that she wasn't losing her mind. "Jim... Please tell me what is happening, this is all very confusing, I can't take this anymore."
"I'm not exactly sure myself, Farrah," Jim says to her calmly. "I just know that this is some kind of magic... dark, spiritual magic. Please don't be afraid, although not in this exactly way, the powers at work here are the same that brought you back to me, so that we can be together again, so it can't be entirely evil, so please..."
Jim is startled by the sound of crackling stone, as if the entire place is about to fall apart behind him. He turns in time to see some kind of monster grabbing hold of James and throwing themselves down into a newly made pit in the floor of the church.
Jim quickly crawls towards the pit, but by the time he is there the pit is gone as if nothing but an illusion, with James along with it.
An odd panic strikes Jim. He hadn't exactly liked James and his attitude and lifestyle, but he had vowed to not lose another person to this place and he meant it. But he couldn't think of any way to reach him, the hole was now whole again and doubt that any of it existed in this plane at this moment.
It was then that Jim looked around and discovered that most of James' relics still laid on the altar, along with the ones used on in ascending the angel and taking Jason from him. One of the rituals had to be a key to getting them to James... right?
As he picked up the obsidian dagger, a wave of recollection hits him, of a dream he had as he recovered from his breakdown after Jason had vanished. In the dream, the door out had stood before him, and note, saying : There is one more thing you have to do, before you can leave. After reading the note, the door vanished and he had awaken.
As he struggled over that memory, he taps the flat side of the dagger against his palm. There had to be a way to save Jason, but if not, was there any way for the rest of them to escape this place? He knew what the note meant, he had felt the compulsion many times here. He could feel it pulling him forcefully away from the idea of helping James, towards Bella even as he asks her, "What can we do, now?"
(To Vio: Sorry if Jim or anyone else isn't meant to know where James has gone or has seen any of the craziness with James' inner demon. Since you didn't say either way, I assumed we could see it before he went down the hole.
I have an idea of how we could somehow get to James, but I imagine it's a 1-1000 chance of being right and that there is possibly no way of helping him and he is truly on his own. Although I might pass the idea along to Bogey and Toadkiller for their opinions.)

GAME UPDATE
James was hit by the butt of the gun and fell, scrambling to his knees when the barrel was thrust into his mouth. He listened numbly to this creature.. this man.. his uncle. The man who ruined his life. And he was about to let him take it all away. Again. He was going to let him, falling back into the old routine. He reached down to start undressing, and felt the gun he'd kept in his pants. He paused a mere moment, withdrawal blurring his vision and making him panic, along with a sickness all too familiar.
Coated in sweat and the bile that was starting to rise up and bubble over (dry heaves were no longer his issue. Actual vomit was), he did the only thing he could think to do. He fell. The shotgun fired, hot shot glanced his forehead and singed much of his hair and scalp, but he was still alive.
The teenager fell back, panic stricken and frantic. He fell to his back, legs shooting up after him. As his legs shot over his head, his right hand took hold of the gun he'd felt in his pocket and pulled it out. By the time his legs had gone over his head and met the floor, he'd held it to his left hand, fired, missing the creature. The creature cocked the shotgun and shot James's hand - the one holding the gun, transforming it into a mangled mass. Back on his knees, his other hand flew into his other pocket to grab the tablet and seal of metatron. The tablet was thrust into his own mouth as the seal was filled with blood.
In a matter of moments, he was launching himself at his uncle, adrenaline once again giving him strength. He needed to get rid of this man once and for all. He had to rid himself of the darkness he'd lived in for 12 years. This was the source of what he was now, the person he'd never wanted to be. His mother was the one who could make things right. He needed to do this for his mother's safety, but more than anything he knew that this was for him. If he wanted to make make a change, it had to be for himself. He had to want this to change and he had to do it for no one else but himself. If he wasn't strong for him, no one else could be strong for him.
He concentrated all of himself in whatever time he had to act to try and stamp out his uncle. He needed to hit as much as he could, anything vital. Head, hands, definitely the hand holding the gun. He took special care to make sure he stamped out the man's crotch. The source of much personal torment had been at the will of this man and his libido and he wanted to make it clear to Vincent, as well as himself, that this chapter was now over. Once he had that done, he moved to the rest of him. Every fiber had to be done before he could deal with this. He had to go. He had to go home.
He had to move on. If he could get his mother home, that would be amazing.. he hoped he could. But he knew for a fact the he had to go home. He had to get help. He had to move on. No more waiting in limbo to be rescued. If he made it home, he'd make sure his life changed for the better. But first, he had to destroy his demons once and for all.
The madness subsided with James exhausted, wounded, and deformed. However as he lay next to the evaporating stain of his tormentor, he felt his memories of Vincent and Lillian slip away.
_________
The Red Tablet and the Seal of Metatron fall from the ceiling of the cathedral on the Altar.
James is no longer active.
The Altar Candles have almost burnt out.

"What the fuck just happened here? Is James did...his seal...it just came from nowhere. What do we do Jim?..I...I dunno what to do." Bella said, more than a tinge of fear in her voice.

These relics suddenly appearing again was no coincidence, and although Jim could not know for certain, he knew that James had meet his end at the hands of the creature. One more gone, one more he couldn't protect.
He looks across the altar to Farrah and Bella, both of whom looked at him with fearful and doubtful eyes. As he looked to them, the urge, the feeling that had possessed him several times during this whole ordeal, was taking hold of him. He knew what it wanted, and it wouldn't let him go until he had done it. So great was the temptation inside him, that he finally had to let the obsidian dagger fall back to the altar and take charge of himself or lose control.
Bracing the edges of the altar as if it was his lifeline, teeth clenched, Jim says to Bella, "I don't think this place will let me leave, Bella... I had a dream, a vision... I don't know which, but it told me I had one last thing to do before I could go and I think... No, I know it has to do with you, and with Farrah. She can't leave her as she is now, she's nothing more than a ghost, called to me from this place. I need a vessel to carry her back to the real world... and there is only you, Bella. It seemed like they always wanted it to be you."
A sharp flush of shame burns Jim's face and his vision blurs with tears as he adds, "But... I can't do it. I've tried to justify it so much in these few minutes, hell, almost the whole time since I've learned of the ritual, in fact. But nothing justifies taking someone's life from them if they haven't done anything wrong, and you haven't to me. You've overcome so much and you were always there for Jason, and for me, too. How could I betray his surrogate mom and face myself every day?"
Turning his eyes to Farrah, his body trembling terribly, Jim continues, "I'm sorry... It was wrong and cruel to want you back... And all the things you've had to endure here is just so horrible... I'm so so sorry. But you know this is wrong. If you are the real Farrah, you know why I can't do this and you would love me for that. But, if you're not really her, it doesn't matter, does it? And besides, if you are you, those children, all those poor souls that died with you... They need you more than I do, back in heaven. I love you Farrah, but you have to go, and I have to learn how to give you up."
*ACTION* With those last words, Jim snatches up the Red Tablet from the altar and swallows it before the eyes of a stunned Bella and Farrah.

GAME UPDATE
The instant Jim ingests the tablet - Farrah collapses. Her body shudders and spasms, but she holds on to consciousness- trying to fight against it the force which is taking control of her body.
"Jim. ... Jim. ... Jim. ..."
Tears fill her eyes.
"don't..."

"Jim...Jim I knew about the ritual. Well I can't say I knew about it...but I put a good guess into it. It's half the reason I initially reacted to Farrah with such hostility." Bella says, the fear gone from her face.
She continues... "That and...I guess jealousy...look I've only been in love once, and much like you, it was taken away from me. But I never wanted it back because it brought too much pain in the end. I'm not used to being treated well...like a person. You almost always treated me well...and I guess I...well I guess I kinda started to really realize that when Farrah came around. You don't know how much you'll miss something until it's gone, and all that, right?
Jim...I..."
Bella trails off for a bit, trying to drown out the sorrow in Farrah's voice and fight back tears.
"Jim....I think somewhere in here I fell in love with you. But...but you were so happy to have Farrah back...it killed me inside. But well...I guess I just submitted to the thought, whatever truly made you happy... I accepted the fact that that would not be me. I'm too young for you, too stupid, too violent, maybe too ugly, who knows.
I'd decided that if I had to die to keep you happy in the end I was ready for it. What did I have to live for anyway? Look at my past..."
At that the tears came. She couldn't hold them back any longer and was wracked in a fit of deep sobbing.
