"Shut up... Just shut the hell up, Bella...." Jim didn't even have his eyes to Bella, all of his attention was faced on the writhing form of Farrah on the floor. He was trembling. He hadn't wanted this, he had thought the pill would have just discarded of her ghost, sent her home. But now he remembered what the rest of the ritual entailed and he didn't know if he'd have the heart to do it. He thought of Bella's words, the outpouring of her feelings. It would have been so easy to decide to vomit the pill up now and proceed with the possession ritual, which would have been easy to do. Seeing Farrah in this agony, his gag reflex was pretty high at the moment. At the most her words pissed him off because of the time they were said. After what he had just done, how could she speak those words to him now? Now, he turns to her, her face a mess from her tears, and says to her, "You're not stupid or ugly... I never want to hear you say those words again, you understand me? As for being violent, that's from how you grew up. It doesn't make you a bad person, because I've seen the kindness you can show when you're not threatened, and it is more than most, believe me. Also, I never want to hear you say you'd give up your life to make me "happy". That's the last thing I want." Farrah had began thrashing about on the floor slightly more violently as a sharp shrill escapes from her throat. Jim winces, his eyes closed tightly to focus away from the sound and continue. "I had thought alot of bringing Farrah back when I heard of the ritual. I had felt so much guilt for her death that I thought, maybe if I brought her back, I could be relieved of it, you know? But I knew, that if I did it... If I had to sacrifice someone else to bring her back with me, I most likely wouldn't be able to live with myself... Guilt..." Jim scoffs, "Damned if you don't, damned if you do..." He was beginning to ramble, he didn't want to do what was coming next, but he had to. If he wanted to move on... "I... I loved you too, Bella... The way you were with Jason, the way you had had this shitty deal of a life for so long but you weren't as half as evil as Jack, my old war buddy. You have strength and composure, but you sell yourself short. When Farrah came back, I was excited, you're right, but I never stopped feeling things for you. I felt like I was betraying you both by having these feelings, but I felt like I was betraying you, her, and also myself if I used you to bring back Farrah. The only alternative would be to stay in this hell with her, and I couldn't do that to her... So, it... it really is better this way. I made promise to get you out of this place, and I meant it. But... If I'm going to move on, I have to say goodbye..." Jim then takes the seal of metatron and the sword of obedience from the altar. He makes his way to Farrah's side. The torment on her face is heartbreaking to look at. She is in so much agony, she cannot hardly speak. Jim gently holds her up to him before quickly jamming the sword of obedience into her torso, intending to be as painless as he can be. He grips the edges of the protruding blade tightly with his right hand and forcefully drags it down the blade, creating a deep bleeding gash. Taking the Seal, Jim lets the blood cover it until the artifact begins to glow and then places it against Farrah's back as Jim embraces her tightly, all the while telling sobbingly that he loves her and all he wants is for her to be at peace now and that he was sorry that he was never able to fully protect her. He continues to hold her, even as the seal melts away every trace of her and as it does so, a piece of Jim feels relief that although Farrah was gone from him again, he had had the chance to say goodbye this time and with it his burden of guilt of her past death. Calling to Bella to help him up, Jim says to her, "Now... Let's see about getting out of here." (Uck... I think this might have went on a bit too long, but I think it would be a very complicated thing for Jim to explain, so it feels kind of justified... But I don't know. )

"Yeah...I guess it's time to get out of here, if we can. I'm not done living yet..." Bella says softly to Jim, looking away from what had to be done to Farrah. She didn't want to see it.
"Got any ideas? I'm frazzled...can't think of what we need to do. All this sorcery and ritual shit isn't my forte." She adds, turning around as the door begins to creak open, thick mist starting to roll in, like something straight out of a horror movie.
"Well...the door's opened, but it seems too easy."

Jim looks around the church, no other doors were present, the front was the only way out. "There doesn't seem to be much choice... Let's get going, I don't want to be here when those candles go out... That seems more ominous to me." With Bella's help Jim pulls himself up and supports himself against her shoulder, balancing on his good leg. Looking at the foreboding fog just barely trespassing the threshold of the door, Jim pulls out the gun from his back pocket, the one given to him by Bella on the rooftop. "Get your shotgun ready... We might lose these weapons as soon as we leave, but they remain, it'll be good to have them. I don't know how to explain it... Just be ready, okay?" Jim then plants a soft kiss on Bella's lips, and then coaxes her to get moving towards the door. "I'm ready," he says with a smile, "let's go." *JIM AND BELLA HEAD TO THE CHURCH DOOR AND EXIT THROUGH IT. (Unless Toadkiller objects, since Bella does have to carry Jim somewhat. But I haven't been informed of any hidden doors, and I don't like the idea of searching around with the candles so close to going out. They creep me out. )

Bella and Jim walk out into the mist, at first buildings and asphalt is visible, eventually the figures and shapes are overwhelmed by the gray fog. The two lonely souls feel as if they are drifting through space, and having lost all perspective - feel motionless. Jim feels as if his strength is returning as looks to Bella - and she is gone, instead his prosthetic leg is in his place. The fog begins to dissipate, and Jim see shadowy figures in the distance moving toward him and around him. He reaches for his gun, but it is not there, he is unarmed. He stays quiet, and braces himself for combat as a middle aged couple pass him from behind. Then more people appear, and quickly walk away - startled by the veteran's haggard appearance. He is back, his memories of Farrah have faded away, but his mind wanders to what has become of Bella.
Bella walks, throughout the fog, eventually she realizes that Jim is no longer with her. She is alone, she finds her way to the church, the door almost falls off it hinges as if it has been years since she was there last. She walks to the Altar, the candles have burnt out, and the relics have crumpled to dust. After a while she noticed that the Otherworld has become very quiet, occasionally a monster appears, but they do not seem to have the drive and brutality as before they will still attack her on sight as they wander aimlessly around the town - nevertheless they do not seem to be hunting her, if anything they appear to be indifferent to Bella's presence. Also, it appears that Glenn's apparition ceased to appear as well, the Otherworld which before seemed to tailor itself to the various personalities there, now seems to be completely indifferent to the woman.
James wakes up in a hospital bed, the doctors and nurses all seemed to the surprised that he has waken. His memories of Lillian and Vincent were gone, and the doctors seemed set on putting the boy through rehabilitation, which James - who constantly lapsed in and out of consciousness was in no position to resist. James has a gunshot wound in his hand and shot in his scalp; and was found with no identification, it is assumed that he was mugged and left for dead. He was found by a good Samaritan and taken to the Emergency Room, where he was in a coma for two weeks. With no contact information and no family members around to claim him, he is completely anonymous.

BONUS! ALX's UFO ENDING!!! Bella rushes to free James from the altar, but is blocked by Riiko-chan "Un momento- You're dead! I killed you..." [That is only what I wanted you to think, you round eyed floozy] mocked Riiko, delivering a crushing blow to Bella's larynx [Now face my Pinstripe Kick!] "Pinche pinstriped puta..." panted Bella as her life flashed before her eyes (which was itself a series of flashbacks) while James creeped toward the Halo of the Sun "Jordan-sama! Are wa Gaijin desu" Riiko exclaimed [He means to replace the sacred crest] "Dame yo!" yelled Jordan [If you would seek to foil my plans, then you should first have reckoned with my Jordan Beam!] unleashing an eldritch green flame from his empty socket, he slays all remaining PCs "Yamero; ima Jordan-ji!" he declares, savagely pulling the ivory dagger from the chest of James who moans "Goodbye Mister Teddy..." but suddenly there is a deafening sound of thunder and a blinding flash of light, bright as the sun rising over the horizon to herald the entrance of Mecha Teddy-san! "Mecha Teddy-san!" both Riiko and Jordan scream in unison [How can this be?] (background music = Teddy-san, Teddy-san! Sugoi robo kuma, Teddy-san...) [It is unacceptable to fail now that I am so close to victory, therefore Riiko must deal with you while I complete the ritual and claim my rightful place as god of this realm!] Jordan hissed [You will never assume the rule of this realm while I live!] declared Mecha Teddy-san [Your treatment of my master is unforgiveable, therefore you must pay the debt which cancels all others...] [Please accept payment in the form of my pinstripe kick!] Riiko shrieked [How dare you attack me with a technique I've already seen?] Mecha Teddy-san demanded [You can't hope to defeat my kuma punch!] countering the kick with his fearsome punch, he sends Riiko's lifeless body deep into the floor "Kono yaro!" Jordan howled [Because you doubtlessly know how to defeat my Jordan Beam, now you must face my ultimate technique, which was only hinted at in the Book of the Names of the Dead but I have perfected it spending a year fighting demons in the otherworld- How else could I have survived?] he turns away whilst crouching, then returns to hurl a huge ball of green fire at Mecha Teddy-san, yelling "HADOUKEN!!!" at the top of his lungs Mecha Teddy-san soaks the powerful attack then barks [If that is the best you can do, then you have no chance to defeat me but let me show you a truly awesome strike; behold the might of my paired kuma fists!] The double blow sends Jordan crashing through all the pillars and impales him on the stained glass window [AAaaahhh, to fail when I was so close to godhood- what a tragedy...] Jordan gasped and then died [No, the true tragedy is the otherworld] declared Mecha Teddy-san, turning his back on Jordan and gathering the corpse of Jason in his arms "Ima, boku ga ten. Iku!" Mecha Teddy-san and Eosphoros return to heaven while the otherworld collapses into a singularity (background music = Teddy-san!! Teddy-san!!!)

Bella crumples to her knees, she's alone, more alone she's ever been. Worse than death she thinks to herself as she looks around with a deep sigh. But she probably deserved all this anyway.
She wonders if Jim and the others were ever real to begin with, or if it was all just a hallucination to try and make this all better. All the shit she'd survived through, all lead to this? Maybe she was already dead anyway, this was "hell" or whatever version you wanted to call it, based on religious belief. The end. Just nothingness, being alone and strange, unearthly creatures stalking around. Dying from them would be giving in though, she'd die by her own hand, she'd already decided that at this point. No point in continuing. Worse than death she again reminded herself in her head.
Wiping away her tears she struggled not to dwell too hard on life and it's value as she tried to sort out the best method to kill herself. The shotgun would work, very messy...pretty scary...but it'd work.
She sobbed through a sigh, looking up in the darkness, seeing almost nothing. No one would hear the shot, maybe one of those monsters, but she wouldn't be alive, so it wouldn't matter what happened after that.
Jim would care...he'd stop her. But Jim wasn't here now, hell he may never have been to begin with. No, no one was left to stop her, she'd end this loneliness quickly and abruptly.
"The coward's way out..." Bella muttered to herself softly, tears streaming down her cheeks.
A jerking motion from the corner of her eye catches her attention, one of the monsters has shambled by the crumbled doorway of the church, shambling along, not even noticing her.
Another deep sigh, and she props up the shotgun to her head. Luckily it's sawed off, making it that much easier to maneuver. Tears continue to pour from her eyes, the sobbing wracking her whole body.
She attempts to steady herself, placing one finger on the trigger.
"I'm so sorry Jim..."

"Bella!" Jim calls out all around him, hoping that their displacement was only slight and hearing his voice, she would come. He shouts out to her again, drawing frightened looks from the many people around him. Given his rugged and beaten appearance, he could understand their fears, but he had to find Bella.
He calls her name again, his hands cupped into a cone to amplify the sound, and looks around the crowds and the surrounding buildings. His training as a sniper had gifted him with well trained eyes for spotted targets unassisted, but look all might he did see Bella anywhere. A strong panic begins to build in him, and he begins to charge through the streets, peering through every nearby storefront window and alleyway, screaming for Bella. But all he found were empty alleys, save for one screeching cat, and at the windows he saw only scared customer staring at a man that seemed completely insane, even to himself when Jim caught his reflection in the glass.
Bella was not here, she was still trapped back there. In that realization, Jim throws himself against the store wall and slides to the sidewalk, a sobbing mess. The ritual of purification had cleansed him of the negative influence that had trapped him in that place, but in their haste to escape through the open doors, they had overlooked that Bella had needed to be purified as well.
She was in that place, alone... No one to help her, to save her from the monsters on the outside or the fear and hatred of herself inside her. One or the other would get to her in the end, he knew it... and there wasn't anything he could do. He had failed her. Just like he had failed Jason. He had let them all die...
He didn't deserve to live, not after he had failed so miserably. How could he go on living, knowing so many had died and he hadn't stop it?
As he laid there, Jim could feel his mind slipping away from him. His sanity breaking apart with every self loathing synapses that rapid fired in his brain. He didn't want to carry this burden, he wanted to be through with it all now.
Without fully realizing he had gotten back up to his feet, Jim finds himself screaming wildly, running along the street, until he comes to another storefront window and proceeds to pound the window with his bare fists. At first, the window doesn't seem as if it is going to give, busting Jim's knuckles open even as he punched with more ferocity until finally the window shutters, sending long, sharp shards of glass to the ground around his feet.
Picking up a shard large enough to hold in his hand, Jim presses the glass hard to his neck, but before he can bring the shard across his throat and jugular, he is tackled by at least four men on the street. Each one is pressing down on a separate limb with all of their weight and strength, successfully holding him down and keeping the glass out of reach until they are finally able to pry out of his fingers.
Denied his rightful death, Jim curses them incoherently, screaming and thrashing like a madman. In the crowd, people were shouting to call the police, while another person suggests mental health.
In the end both show up. In handcuffs and sedated, Jim is asked by the police why he wanted to kill himself, he tells them the truth. All of it. He tells them about the parallel world, the people he met there, the creatures that inhabited almost every corner, and the ritual of rising Eosphoros and how he had been unable to stop it and save Jason, and how he had failed to get Bella out, how she is still trapped inside.
After saying all of this, Jim asks the officier, "Don't you see why, now? I deserve this... I deserve to die. Please... kill me."
In the end, no one kills him. He is placed inside the back of a solid white van and slowly carried off towards the Galves Clinic, where he assumes he will be placed in a room with padded walls and no way to hurt himself ever again, but at the moment he is too sedated to care.
(Expect possible Jim follow up story in the Writing section of the forum.)

((OOC: I gotta say this was a lot of fun. If we do another one I've got a great character in mind. Bella still lives on in my writing, though I guess it'd be in past tense now. In the past Bella was a part of a vigilante group, which I've touched upon briefly in a piece in the writing section. In that group were several other major characters, I've barely even got to scratch the surface on them. Paleface in particular is my favorite, and there were so many times I wanted to reference him in Bella's posts recalling past memories, but I feared it'd go over you guys heads, since you don't know even half of that whole story.
Paleface was one of Bella's true friends in life, despite being quiet, and pretty mysterious. He is a gigantic man who wears a white skull faced luchador mask. Gigantic as in being almost seven and a half feet tall and built like a semi truck. Bella never knew a whole lot about his past other than his being Mexican and having been an escaped convict for a severe crime he got framed into. But they worked together often and she had developed a good sense of safety in his presence.
Glenn was mentioned several times, his illness, his death, etc. But it was never really touched upon why he truly meant so much to Bella. Glenn was a shred of normality in Bella's life. She'd been lying to herself for years after escaping Brazil that she'd slipped into the proper role of a normal human being. Glenn knew almost nothing about her past, she'd worked hard to keep it from him. She'd met a group of normal young people whom she hung out with during her "normal" hours through Glenn. He was really her last anchor into normality. But even while dating him, when she was away from him and after nightfall the normality ceased, the "normal" hours gone she went into business mode and met up with The Oldboy Network to stalk the streets in vigilante justice.
Living a double life took it's toll on her as she continually struggled to keep it all away and a secret from Glenn and her friends. She intended to marry Glenn and give it all up for good, just fade away from that violent lifestyle and be completely normal, maybe even have children. But Glenn died, and with him died Bella's normality. She abandoned her friends and took up fulltime work with the Network, partnering with Paleface.
Bella lived a lie throughout most of this whole RP. Constantly telling herself she needed to get back to normality to live peacefully with her friends. When in reality her life was hardly any less chaotic and peaceful than the otherworld she ended up trapped in. She frequently thought back to the comfort of her small, cozy apartment with her cat, when in reality she'd abandoned it and slept on Paleface's couch in a small, dirty housing project apartment. Sleeping with her clothes on and a gun within arms reach at all times.
Bella also continually tried to lie to herself that life was worth living for her, and that everything would be ok. But in the end she did exactly what she'd wanted to do for a long time, kill herself. She was living a dirty, violent and extremely dangerous lifestyle in reality in hopes of getting killed one day, so she didn't have to do it herself, because she didn't have the guts.
She also lied to herself in the sense of trying to make herself out to be a truly compassionate person. When in reality she suffered from severe Sadomasochism disorder. Taking immense pleasure both mentally and physically in dishing out harm to others, and when receiving pain herself. To the point of seriously getting off to it. It was mentioned a few times of the scars lining Bella's body, true a few were received during her hard times in Brazil, but probably almost half of them were self inflicted.
Bella wasn't a serial killer, nor was she completely cold hearted, but she was as much a monster as some of the ones she encountered in this piece. That's what made it so fun to roleplay her. She only killed criminals, but she did so mercilessly and violently, taking immense pleasure in doing so.))

[OOC: Now I've got to thinking after reading the last posts. I already had an idea for a character for the next game even though we had barely started this one. Due to her certain "issues" she could work into Jason's backstory a little. But don't be fooled; she is an entirely different kettle of fish to any character I've RPd before. ]
And a little something for my poor deceased Jason. Jason was happy. Mr Teddy was with him - Would never leave him. Jason hugged the grinning bear tight. Nothing else mattered, Not Jim. Not Bella. He didn't care about anything anymore. He didn't even notice he was dead.

Sometime later, the boy was more active. He was sitting on his own and talking to the nurses. One of the younger nurses came in to check his vitals and gave him a smile. "You seem well today. How are you feeling?"
The boy grinned somewhat. "Fine.. my hand still.. well it's hard to get used to it, but I guess the reverse Mohawk look is pretty good on me right?" he commented, pointing to his hairless strip of scalp. The shotgun bullet had really burned him but they'd deal with it when they could. Right now, it was about getting him well enough to leave.
The nurse chuckled and nodded. "It's quite becoming, I must say. By the way, your paperwork went through for foster care. You're on the older-side, since you're almost 17, but they're going forward with it and finding you a family to stay with. You excited?" She certainly seemed happy.
In moments the teen was smiling from ear to ear. "Yes! I'm getting lonely without a family, so I hope they have a big one. It's getting close to time for me to leave here.. will they have a family for me by then?"
"I'm sure they will.. I'm going to be on vacation starting tomorrow, so I won't be here when you leave.. so this is going to have to be goodbye, kiddo." She gave the boy a quick, but affectionate hug.
He hugged back and said his goodbye, waving to her as she left the room. He gave a soft sigh.. soon he'd be leaving too.. everything that had happened back then.. it all seemed like some strange dreams. He supposed that's what drugs did, though. All those people, his father, the monsters? Everything.. some crazy trip he'd had.. it was all over now though.. He was kicking that and determined to get back on track. Back to school, in therapy, no more drugs. A family, for the first time since he was 4. No more being alone. He could only look forward to the future.
He was stirred from his thoughts when his nurse poked her head back in just after walking out. "And Paul?" she called to him from her spot in the doorway. He looked over as he was called and saw her smiling at him with what he could only assume was confidence. "Good luck out there! This is a brand new start for you! Don't let it go to waste!"
The boy smiled back, a strange sort of confidence radiating from him, "Don't worry. I won't."
(it's been amazing playing with everyone! I had really never expected to get to the end, let alone get OUT of that place. I was pretty sure one of you would kill James, withdrawal would kill him, or he'd be so convinced it was fake that he'd get murdered by a monster. I expected to get a month in before he died.
You guys have been a great group. You were all really diverse and you challenged how I played James. He started developing in the opposite direction that I'd originally planned. I had planned for him to continuously get worse and more .. stupid I suppose. Or have a massive panic attack or something and be reckless. But you guys really challenged him in a way I hadn't anticipated and I want to thank EVERYONE for that. Especially Christian. As James' father, he was not what I expected. We had both created independent characters were thrust upon one another. Originally James' uncle was actually his father. Then he had a father and his abusive figure was now his uncle. It played out so well.
And I'd like to say a HUGE thank you to VIO for not only running this, but really giving James a way to grow. I think I started clapping and cheering loudly when I first saw the way this was starting to end (once the uncle took James into that hole) and I just loved it. The story made him think and use his awkward, drug related knowledge to make decisions in battle (like when he and Bella were in the restaurant!!) and giving him the opportunity to fight his battles from the very beginning.
This really has been an amazing game and I'm so happy I was apart of this! If there's another one, I'll definitely sign up with some friends along too!)
