Sony are aiming for 10 yearss with the PS3. Though i doubt the PS3 will ever get a library as big as the previous systems, considering what it costs to make a game on the current systems. Can't really speculate about the next main numbered entry into the FF series though. I've always been more interested in VXIII then XIII itself.

XIII, VSXIII and XIV will be on the PS3, too.
We only said a couple of exclusives that are generally the best - there's still Gran Turismo 5, Killzone 2, Ratchet and Clank, the downloadable gems like flOw, Nobi Nobi Boy, Fat Princess...
There is a fair amount of content when multiplatform games are considered.

Don't trust internet rumors. Sony themselves has said they plan a 10 year lifespan for the PS3, and keep in mind that while in the midsts of it's swan song, the PS2 is still alive.
Also at this point the PS3's library is almost the size of the 360s. It's getting closer by the week.
I highly advise you get one personally. I also highly advise you look into Demon's Souls. It's such an amazing game, that honestly will NEVER get the full attention it deserves. It's done well, especially for an Atlus game (From Software developed it however, which is surprising.), but it's still niche'.
Don't overlook it due to it's difficulty. While it is difficult, it's not cheaply difficult, and if you die, it's you're fault. But at the same time with great challenge comes great rewards. The satisfaction is amazing. Great game, one of the best on the system, easily.

Considering all the praise its getting from King of Dogs, i might just have to import Demon's Souls soon. Dosent look like its getting a release in these parts.

Well, kingofdogs kind of convinced me to get Demon's Souls. And I do like Atlus games. Persona series, for example. Is from Atlus, isn't it? At least I think so. I also heard good things about fl0wer. I may have to check that out.

The company that made fl0wer made fl0w first. And I finally got the chance to play Persona 4 and I'm loving it.

Demon's Souls is published by Atlus, yes. But it was developed by From Software. It was just published and localized by Atlus.

Toadkiller Dog: Ah, I see. I'm mainly between 3 games. Uncharted Drake's Fortune, Little Big Planet, and Demon's Souls. Uncharted seems like a good series, and has good scores. Demon's Souls seems to be challenging and a good game. And LBP may have the soft, cute and happy atmosphere I'm in need lately. And the extra content is a plus. Actually, I may add 2 more games to the list. God of War Collection (since I don't have the PS2 games) and Resistance. GOW... I don't know if it's the kind of game I dig, it's cool sometimes but there'a nothing deep or interesting, at least from what I could see of the first game (I played it until Pandora's Temple). But it's a really popular series, so maybe there's gold in there I haven't seen yet... And Resistance is also popular... the only drawback is being a FPS. Does the PS3 accept any usb mouse and keyboard? That could change my opinion greatly. o.o *looking at more PS3 titles* Also, The Darkness. I heard good things about it.

Uncharted is a GREAT game, and a great series, but they're short. I personally didn't care for Resistance 1, 2 was better, if you intend to play online anyway.

I would really recommend LBP as a first buy. It's got IMMENSE replay value - it basically never ends! There's soooo much content, both user and paid, it's mind-boggling at times. And level creation is contagious - when you shit bricks on some community levels (SH inspired even!) you really want to make your own and show it to the world. I once spent hours on end trying to make one - it's still there, but not done. And now you can create online with others at the same time! Collaborations! The devs LOVE LBP and constantly update it with bugfixes and additions, which just goes to show how big and healthy the community is. EDIT: Also, get the GOTY edition - you get lots of add-ons and DLC for basically the same price when it first came out. And you get into the ModNation Racers beta (so I hear).

Thanks guys, I actually decided this earlier today. I bought Little Big Planet. Not the GOTY edition though, because I couldn't find it in stores here, and I didn't want to import it. But I'll get the DLC eventually. Can't wait to play people's levels and create my own. It should arrive together with the PS3 by tuesday. Btw, I already created my PSN account. It's ValtielDan. XD

you'll probably get stuck having to do a few updates, not sure if you can play online without all the updates. There's been a lot of tweaking to the game and all the costume packs that have been added to it. God i wasted so much coin on stupid costume packs.
edit: just tried to add you to my friendlist, BlackSwordsmen. got a error message saying the name hadn't been registered. yet.

Little Big Planet actually lost its appeal to me fairly quickly. I know I'm in the minority there. But while the game was charming and my wife ADORES the Sack Boy...I just couldn't fully get into the groove.

Well, I ended up getting 2 more games... Soul Calibur 4 and Uncharted. They were 2 for the price of 1. Still about 65 dollars each, but here, that's cheap, since games are usually sold for almost double that ammount. o.o
@pac-white: maybe now it's registered? I'll try adding ya

I'm considering buying a second hand game at Amazon but stuck on which one. Looking to spend less then a tenner. PS2 game mainly. (Or PC if game spec is low enough for my dying computer) Genres: Horror, Survival Horror, Stealth, Adventure, Rpg. Basically games like MGS, Onimusha, Forbidden Siren, Splinter Cell, DMC, Hitman, Broken Sword, Monkey Island, FF, BReath of Fire, Project Zero, SH (of course), Resident Evil ect... Just to give you an idea of style and what I've already got or intend to but can't afford.
