I am usually rather venomy in my dislike of FF, but i will admit that this looks damn shiny, and that the more "real-world" gritty feel does certainly add an appeal that was totally absent for me in any previous ones i have seen. I am hesitant to say anything like "FUCKYEAHDISRAWX!" just yet, but if i would say it about anything FF-related, it would probably be this. XP The second vid sets me back to being rather disinterested, but the light and smoke display at about 1:18 on that second vid IS pretty damn gorgeous, and overall it appears to have a bit of a juicy epic battley vibe so that can't be all bad. .....even if there appear to be far too many guards kitted out by CyberDog with massively superfluous neons all over their legs. XD

Yeah, sometimes I think FF costume designers need to lay off sniffing paint.

Yeah, the real world setting of FFvXIII is what is REALLY appealing to me.
Also the combat is like Kingdom Hearts is a plus ;D

I wish FF would go back to a more standard Fantasy world like in IX. XII was pretty close to standard fantasy though.
It's a FF game so I'll get it. I can't say I'm super excited based on what we know is coming because I haven't really read up on it. Since I already know I'll get it it makes more sense for me to stay in the dark and be surprised. I'm excited enough just because it's a new FF game.
Is there word on a release date though yet?

2010? Holy crap. These had better be worth it for that kind of wait. FFXII was kinda disappointing to me considering how long we waited for it.

I don't know much about this FF yet, and I'll try remaining in the dark. It gets more interesting that way.
Though I couldn't finish FFXII. The game was not bad, but the setting, main characters... just didn't appeal to me. FFVII, FFVIII, FFX, these I've played, and the story made me go through the end. FFXII, well, didn't. Beautiful visuals though.
If the world an characters don't appeal to me, in a RPG, there's just not that feeling of wanting to finish the game. It's a pity, 'cause I was really exited.
From what I've seen of FFXIII, it looks more action oriented again. I fear it'll be very similar to XII. :/

there can neve be enough Afro's in gaming. Never. Better have some bad ass afro related attack, or you know, pulll potions from it.

I think he keeps his baby Chocobo there. Honest. Look at the scans.
Also
I wonder if he'll be as stereotypical as Barret...?

He looks like he'll not be stereotypical, at least not much (but then people will say his afro is stereotypical and etc) It's hard really, anything he says or does in the game someone can shout "stereotype!" or "racism". When you're looking for racism, you'll see it everywhere...
I see lots of people complaining about absence of a black character, but then when they put one in, lots will play the racism tape. It annoys me.
I hope the game does well. *sigh* Maybe I'll have a PS3 by 2010. o.o
