I read a lot of reviews, but at the same time I WRITE a lot of reviews too. I still hate those excessively long winded ones none the less.

That's why I don't read IGN's reviews. They're like 8 pages!
Give me a page and a half

I don't think My Hands is a terrible theme, but that trailer was terribly made. The music didn't fit at all and it was too loud, and I think that was more fault of the editing than the song itself. They used the same Japanese trailer and only changed the song, and that was the mistake, since the original trailer footage was made to fit with a greatly different song.
Moving forward. I won't read a 12 page review. That's crazy. They must be spoiling a lot of things. 0.o
I'm trusting professional reviews less and less anyway. Gametrailers gave MW2 best game of the year in all plataforms, including PC. There's so much ass kissing. I always know which games will get highest scores in most sites. GTA, Modern Warfare, Mass Effect, the big names. FFXIII will probably have a very high score also, no matter if it's really good. I still read the reviews for the info, but I don't take the score seriously anymore. :\

Oh my, I never knew! I'm glad they went the way they did, after all FFXII was a 2006 ps2 game and it took years.

some of the costumes in those images look like the ones from X-2. And half the screens don't really look cell-shaded to me. I've heard some people say its a miss translation, and that article talks about a canned X-3 game. The project, obviously scrapped, but they've taken the combat system.

X360 players got to change THREE discs, PS3 players only ONE! Hahahahah!! Take that!! xD
J/K. Swapping discs never bothered me.
AC2, Bioshock 2, GoW 2, Dante's Inferno (yeah I'm curious), Heavy Rain, Final Fantasy... So many games coming, I need longer days! And I still have to finish DA:O !! There's just not enought time!! Aaargh!

In my honest opinion, swapping discs is a thing of the past. We're past that level of technology, it shouldn't be happening anymore.

I never minded changing disks in all honesty.
They only thing I didn't like was how it broke the flow. It seemed like a disk swap was always at like a pivotal moment in the plot. Kinda annoying
EDIT FFXIII May have to wait. RE5 DLC, AC2 DLC, GTAIV DLC, Bioshock 2, and Heavy Rain al come out in the next two months.
Its an overload of AAA titles! Damn you, Modern Warfare II!

I never minded switching discs, but I still think it's a thing of the past, we're done with that.
The only game I can think of that it really pissed me off with was Metal Gear Solid. Like Vaco mentioned it completely ruined the immersion and broke the flow, and at a very important part too.
I got a SHIT TON of games coming out soon I gotta get.
RE5 Gold GTAIV Eipsodes From Liberty City Bioshock 2 White Knight Chronicles Heavy Rain Yakuza 3 Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth Ragnarok DS Pokemon SoulSilver Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Shiren The Wanderer Wii Dante's Inferno Super Street Fighter IV FFXIII
It's fucking madness!

I'm willing to let quite a few of the big releases slide by and get them when the price drops. I'm really not that interested in alot of upcoming games. Heavy Rain is at the top of my list, i'd like to pick up Yakuza 3 aswell, but most of the other games, i can wait for. XIII i can wait for. Especially now that i'm Downloading VIII for my PSP.

It looks like the western community doesn't like FFXIII either. At least most comments in blogs and websites are complains. I'm not saying XIII is a good game, since I haven't played it yet. But I think it's completely unfair the way people are crucifying it for not being Mass Effect 3. Mass Effect now is the pinacle of the RPG genre, even if ME2 is more an action shooter than a RPG. I'm tired of every reviewer being biased towards western games, and Bioware. Every game now must have multiple choices, multiple dialogue trees. People praise "open ended WRPGs" as the greatest games, and how FF is shit because you have no choice in the story, even though Bioware "choices" are mostly cosmetic. Also, every reviewer complains when a game doesn't have multiplayer, no matter what. And now people say FF stories were always shit. People are just bashing "spike haired heroes", and belts. And people are claiming WRPGs, like Fallout, have incredible, emotionally engaging stories. Sorry, but that's just too weird for me. I played Fallout, I played Oblivion. That's not the way it is for me. But people do have different tastes... I'm not saying WRPGs are bad, or anything like that. I'm playing Dragon Age and enjoying it. But they are just different than JRPGs, and one shouldn't try to be like the other. I, personally, prefer JRPG's stories, even if they are, quoting, "cliched spike haired bullshit". Yes, some JRPGs are cliched, but there are good ones also. And really, Dragon Age's story isn't cliche?? I prefer an annoying protagonist like Tidus over one that doesn't even have any expression on his face. Yes, Dragon Age again. I guess, in the end, I prefer "japanese melodrama bullshit" over a story that doesn't get me emotionally engaged at all. Like Fallout. Or Oblivion. Or even Dragon Age. It's getting really hard for me to have an idea of how good a game is. The cool thing now is to bash japanese games, praising westerns instead. Looks like there is a war between West and East in the gaming world. I can't trust reviews anymore, they are VERY biased. I can't trust the reviews praising it, or the ones bashing it. I just don't know anymore. A PS3 game is 120 dollars. The prospect of buying it and not liking it scares me. But every info I see about XIII is clearly biased. I don't know what to think about this game anymore. PS: I may be overreacting, but I'm sleep deprived and grumpy.

People love the illusion of choice. Like in the BioShock games, you can either be Hitler or Jesus. Yeah, thats choice!
As for saying every RPG must be open and non-linear, yeah I agree. Its in the same vein as now every game must have a multiplayer aspect (Fuck you very much MW2). You make a 5 hour single campaign and then focus on a shit-tastic multiplayer that will be dead in six months. Way to cater to the MTV/ADD generation, you jackasses!
I want my RPGs linear, because I play for the story. I don't really consider Fallout 3 an RPG. Its more of a shooter, yeah, your character has stats but to me an RPG is how you do battle. Final Fantasy, Xenogears, Xenosaga, etc.
I'm going to give it a chance, I give every non online FF a chance.
When I play a game I want it to be a solo experience, I don't want some jagoff running around acting like a 13 year old who hasn't taken his meds in a week. Thats why I loathe multiplayer games (especially multiplayer trophies). I want to play a game/beat a game on my own merit.
Does that make me antisocial? No, not really
Although, I must admit Borderlands online wasn't TERRIBLE

Games less then a week away from release, People are starting to get there copies and the reviews are coming out of the works. At least, IGN UK have a review out (surprisingly, only two pages). From one persons comments, they've said some plot details are left for you to find in Chapter summaries :S Might pick it up still, depends if any store is doing a good deal on it.
