watched it the other day, I think the voice actors are a bit of a mixed bag. Some of them sound alright, others haven't grabbed my attention. Didn't think much of the dialogue at points either.
Bit odd really, i watched the subbed version of the trailer, and my interest was picking up in XIII, but now with the English trailer out, i dunno. I'm not as dis-interested as i was originaly, but i'm not as interested as i was a few days ago.

I like the new mystery woman. Villian? Yeah, she's unquestionably hot. Like, Rule34 hot. ...Also, yeah, character development and that shit.

The new girl is not the villain (boo) but is indeed a party member despite the fact she's helping Sanctum. Her name is Oerba Yun Fang Scan of FangAlso some other new info Final Fantasy XIII- There will be no PS3 install - Game saves will be around 500kb - There are few load times, and are only seen when going between towns and the field. Final Fantasy Versus XIII- The footage at TGS was just test footage, and will not actually be in the game at all. - The battles will be an extension of the Kingdom Hearts battle system, but with some traditional Final Fantasy elements as well. - Lots of emphasis is going towards the level design. - There will be a partner system, with your ally moving independently to each other.

They actually did the English (and the rest of the languages for Europe, I guess) in tandem with the Japanese. So yeah, awesome.
March 9th... I somehow need to get a Slim until then. Hmmm.

The international main theme is different from the original japanese one. "KIMI GA IRU KARA" for the Japanese and "My Hands" from Leona Lewis for the international market. Now, there's a lot of backlash from the gaming community about that. THey want the original japanese song. At first I was bummed as well. Then I heard both songs. Sorry, the japanese one is generic kinda bland. Between both of them, I actually prefer the english one. For the first time. Most people complaining are complaining mainly because they want a japanese song by a japanese singer. You can clearly see that in the comments. (So finally I understand what "weaboo" means. ) Heck there are people saying the japanese one is the best Final Fantasy theme ever! What?! What about Sudeki Da Ne? What about ALL the other ones? They're all better to me. They're exagerating because the song is japanese, that's all. I prefer the english one. Better melody. A little more epic. *Sigh* I won't be playing this for the next couple years anyway. -.-

Yeah, that got sand in my gears as well. Too lazy to write your own theme song, Square. Jesus, its like MGS4's Here To You. They licensed the song when MGS4's original ending was when Snake and Otacon turned themselves in for 'international terrorism' and were executed MGS3 and MGS3 had their own original theme. So did FFVIII, FFIX, FFX, FFXII Seems to be a growing trend in videogames

^ You said MGS3 twice. i though MGS4's theme song was 'Love Theme' and 'MGS Saga'. Here's to You was just used over part of the closing credits. Dosent make it overly important.
Just had a look around youtube to hear the songs. Neither song is particuly interesting, or captivating.

Honestly, I want orchestral main themes. Screw pop songs.

Honestly, I want orchestral main themes. Screw pop songs. Agreed. With the actually not so distant release date having been announced I can't help but want to lay down my preorder for this game. Despite the fact that NOTHING about it, other than it's graphics have impressed me. The characters look so goddamn lame it hurts. STILL, I thought the EXACT same thing about FFXII, and I ended up really loving that game. As such, I'll be giving this one a shot too and picking it up on release day. I pray that Square does not disappoint me. I actually rather love Final Fantasy as a whole, only disliking a few select titles in the series. Those being FF9, FFXI, FFX-2 and FFTA. The thing is, I haven't like anything the company has put out since FFXII, period. I have a strong hatred of any and all things Kingdom Hearts, and I thought the FF fighting game on PSP, Dissidia was a train wreck of a game. Crisis Core was a neat idea, but felt really bland, repetitive and boring. The World Ends With You was again a neat and fresh idea that I felt was pretty lame. So please Square, please renew my faith in you. I DO have high hopes for this game, I learned well with FFXII that looks can be quite deceiving.

I actually rather love Final Fantasy as a whole, only disliking a few select titles in the series. Those being FF9, FFXI, FFX-2 and FFTA. I can understand the rest, but FFIX!? Really? That's probably one of the best in the series. It's a shame so many don't like it... The reason you liked XII is because Matsuno and his crew did it. Even with them leaving halfway because of the shitty politics of Squeenix, they still managed to do a fantastic game. Some people are inclined to say XII is Vagrant Story 2, and while I won't go that far, I will say it's got the same feeling. Like vintage wine, gets better as it gets older. Now, Matsuno and the gang are working on XIV. So don't expecting anything mindshattering from FNC compilation - not that those will be bad games, but they definitely won't have the same feel as Tactics or VS. XII could have been even better... I'm not so scared about XIII, I'm scared about VsXIII - I mean, it's the KH team - I love the music, the atmosphere, and the battle system in KH, but the story was godawful after the first one when Nomura intervened. Anyway, I demand to know why you dislike FFIX.

I disliked FFIX because not a single character held my interest. Characters means a lot for me in an RPG. I didn't care about the story either really.

FFIX has my favorite characters in the whole series, Vivi being my all time favorite.
I also really liked Crisis Core. I heard that playing it on Normal just involved a bunch of mashing of the X button for 15-20 hours, so I put it on Hard instead and I've had a lot of fun with it.
As for FFXII, it's good, but that's the one that honestly feels kinda bland and dull to me. Sometimes I appreciate it more than other times.
Tactics: WOTL is my new favorite in the series by the way. After playing VII for a second time, it has fallen to second place. Then VIII, X, IX, V, IV, Crisis Core, XII, Tactics A2, I, III DS.
Edit: I've been caring more about the gameplay in FF lately and less about story. That's why not too long ago VIII moved ahead of X. I want FFV for GBA. I bet if I play it another time or two it'll move up on my list. I kinda hope they make a FFV for DS. Some people would rather have a VI remake for DS but that game is bigger and honestly more important and if it gets a remake it should be on PS3 and maybe X360. Also, for the first time I'm not totally against a remake of VII on PS3. The graphics are great but haven't aged perfectly, the script had issues, and the controls were terrible.
