Well in less than two hours I'll finally be playing this game. I'm not worried about that DLC situation either, they won't fool me twice.

Still in Goodsprings.
Its good to be back in the Fallout universe.
Just an FYI if you want easy caps:
Take the laser pistol from Doc Mitchells house then go to the general store. Sell the laser pistol, then buy the cheaper one back. Do this a few times and the laser pistol will be worth 94 caps.

I really wanna get this. Any of you guys playing on PS3? I've heard rumors that it runs kinda crappy on PS3, but then again this is a Bethesda game, they almost always are buggy. Does it run about the same or better/worse than Fallout 3.
Also are you guys liking the game and setting better than FO3?

re: my earlier post
Said exploit works with ANY weapon ANY shop has as long as there is two of them
@td I am playing on PS3. The only hiccup I've been having is when I'm wandering the wastes it'll pause for a fraction of a second and then continue as normal. I'd say this happens every few seconds for 2 minutes, then nothing for hours, then it'll pop up again. Its only happened outside too
Gamebreaking? No. Annoying? Mildly.
I hear the 360 version is even worse. I haven't had a single freeze yet. Load times are GREAT compared to FO3
As for the setting, its a welcome change, I've only JUST got to New Vegas so its hard to say.
Overall, I'm loving it

There are ALOT of exploits to make you a walking powerhouse
Glitch in Primm: Unlimited caps Glitch in HELIOS One: Unlimited XP + 2 Doctors Bag (heal crippled limbs) + 3 Stimpacks everytime you do a certain option.
The Primm one HAD to be intentional. It's too obvious to miss
Overall, I like the Mojave Wastes. The destruction is just natural decay while the DC Wastes was crumbling buildings from direct hits from the blast
The iron sights are a HUGE welcome. I find I'm using it more than VATS

I've noticed some exploits. I choose not to use them just for the sake of authenticity.
I'm loving this game so much so far. The musical score is so much creepier and chilling. It sounds closer sometimes to something from Silent Hill than what I've become used to in Fallout 3.
Although I totally had chills when I heard some of Fallout 3's score come into play out of nowhere.
I've noticed it's definitely harder too. Not by a whole lot but I can't quite yet just slaughter a ton of monsters without having to try just a little tiny bit.
Giant Radscorpions are a massive pain in my ass~
Fantastic game~

The score is very good. I like the song when you are in Doc Mitchells place in the beginning. I've finished my first playthough: - At first I thought the ammo thing was stupid but then I got the hang of the combat system and I loved it. Also was initially mad I lost a hot key on the D-pad for the ammo switch but now I love it
- Sometimes love/sometimes hate: You only get a perk on even levels. Kinda nice since in Fallout 3 you were unstopable at level 30 but at the same time I got so use to getting a perk every level now you have to REALLY plan out your character
- Sometimes love/sometimes hate: Skill magazines and Skill books. Books permanently raise your stats 3 points while the magazine only raise it 10 points for about 2 minutes
- Loved they got rid of the karma system for the reputation system. Not only is it for the 3 major factiosn, but each town you come across as well.
Overall, very good game, can't wait to see where the DLC takes us. 8/10

Just finished my first playthrough. Gotta say, I enjoyed this game a lot more than Fallout 3. Don't get me wrong, I liked FO3 a lot, but I just liked the story, setting and improvements of New Vegas more.
Sided with and got the NCR ending. Curious as to how the other faction outcomes would turn out. Probably start a second character sooner or later.

Just gonna paste my post I put on nin.com since I'll just essentially say the same thing again anyways.
The map does seem smaller. I think the amount of locations make it feel almost as big though.
This seemed to be a trick with Fallout 3 too though. It really never took long to run from one side of the map to the other. But the amount of content in between takes a billion hours to get through.
I've been playing a lot of New Vegas too. I'm level 22 and roughly about 50 hours into the game (trying to ignore the main quest to some extent).
However the glitches are pissing me off. Factions are absolutely bi-polar towards me. Neutral will mean kill. Vilified and hated will mean guess you're an alright dude.
NCR has loved me since the beginning of the game and they still sent people to kill me.
At least with that glitch the game is still playable.
However, the game has locked up on me about 7 times now. Yesterday alone it locked up on me three times and randomly reset the game twice. Getting pretty sick of doing bits of content over and over again because of this.
It's been two years since Fallout 3 and they still can't fix these obnoxious glitches? Both Fallout 3 and New Vegas have essentially become unplayable for me at times due to this.

Bethesda games are known for this sort of thing Tabris. It's unfortunate, but you just gotta remember to save often, very often, and keep more than one save.
I had about 4-5 freezes and 1 reset to the XMB (Which initially worried me, thought it was something wrong with my PS3)
I left a fews quests not done, that I know of, sure there were many more I missed. But one in particular I wish I'd finished. Felt like shit seeing the ending, realized I could have easily done something to have changed it.

Still in love with this game. Haven't played it in about a week though due to glitches.
I do tend to save quite often. However, I am still SO SICK of redoing things because of the freezing.
The last time I played the game, it locked up randomly THREE times and also randomly RESET the fucking game twice! In less than a 6 hour period of time.
I'd just be playing all and BAM black screen and I'm at my PS3 log in screen.
So the game is on hiatus. Might play some tonight though.
I'd assume Bethesda would eventually patch this. However, after assuming this great and glorious assumption with Fallout 3 when they released the game of the year edition. I was wrong.
So far as I'm concerned, New Vegas will be like this forever.

haha, I know right?!
I know it'll come to PS3 eventually I just hate this silly exclusivity DLC nonsense.
I'm about to start Hardcore mode for the first time for my final trophy and then I can start another run and do all the cool little side quests and explore.
And going by the Fallout wiki, I mised ALOT
EDIT
Apparently Dead Money will raise the level cap to 35 and include new perks
