kotaku.com/5219584/new-fallout-announcedNew Fallout game coming next year for all current consoles and PC. Hopefully Bethesda gets rid of their snobby attitude and releases some DLC for the PS3 this time. (Also would help if MS would stop throwing money around)

They had better improve on their shitty dialogue or else!

It's a cool concept, I think. Oh, and Vaco, Bethesda's not developing the game this time -- It's Obsidian. Unless you're implying that Bethesda still has a hand in publishing it or something, which would be news to me since I can't read that article from work.

They had better improve on their shitty dialogue or else! hope they Improve the NPC design and animation aswell. It was horrible in fallout 3. I found it so hard to get into the game because of it. The characters showed less emotion then the sprites in Pac-Man.

I don't know if Bethesda has their hand in it or not. They're prolly producing.
I'm kinda hoping this stays in the FPSRPG category cause Fallout 3 was amazing in my book.

Obsidian did the Neverwinter Nights games, which I'm a fan of. But when you look at those games compared to Fallout 3, and the original two Fallout games, you might see that this new Fallout may revert back to the old style.
It really wouldn't surprise me to see this new Fallout on the Neverwinter Nights 2 engine. This means a much more boring, yet diverse and deep game, with a ton of modding potential. Can't say for sure, but hey.
It is mentioned, a bit anyway in the heading article here that it will resemble Fallout 3, so who knows. Either way, I like both Bethesda and Obsidian, so I can't complain.

I absolutely adore Fallout 3. It's the first game that I've played where it's a more 'American' style RPG. I'm used to the J-RPG style, like FFVII Chrono Trigger etc so this is completely new to me.
I feel like I've missed out on some amazing games now. Like Oblivion and Mass Effect. I think I'm going to go back and play those two once I'm finished with Fallout 3.
More on topic and to the point, I really look forward to this.

Hopefully I will have finished Fallout 3 by the time this comes out. But its the location that has me intrigued. Vegas? Oh lordy what freaks and misfits will we find there??

Minnesota had its first snowfall of the season and I am currently rereading The Road by Cormac MacCarthy and it got me thinking:
I'd like to see a Fallout game in a snow environment using the current FPSRPG system.
No, Operation: Anchorage doesn't count.
I want to trek across barren snowfields and dead forests.
I'd like to wander within a dead forest at night with the moon high in the sky giving the fresh fallen snow a pale color. Or how about a snow storm?
In New Vegas I'd like to see weather patterns. It still rains in the post apocalypse world I imagine...?

In New Vegas I'd like to see weather patterns. It still rains in the post apocalypse world I imagine...? If I remember the setting fluff from Fallout 1 correctly, you really don't want to be caught in the rain in the Fallout universe.

Yea, I want weather patterns too. I kinda want a game like this that has a full year weather cycle. Considering the amount of time most people put into the game it'd be easy to go through quite a few years of weather.
I always wanted an MMO that did that too. I like atmosphere so it's really cool to me.

It still rains in the post apocalypse world I imagine...? I'd imagine the rain being acid or whatever the F ... in other words ... harmful ... would add a little variety to the whole "walking for hours to no end" bit, wouldn't it? Or perhaps some simple rad poisoning while it rains? I'd like to see that as frustrating as it might get in the long run
