According to Destructoid, Konami teased something that resembled a possible new Silent Hill title at an event in San Francisco. Here's the story. I don't know if my heart can take another last-half-of-Homecoming; I sort of hope this is a whole new horror game. The current gen needs some more!

Sniped!
I am really excited for E3 2010 now, with this (with the explanation of wtf it is) and the new Zelda possibly being shown.

If Climax has it, then I'm cool. If Double Helix somehow ends up with one again, then I'm only really half excited.
Climax deserves the torch for the Silent Hill series as far as I'm concerned.
Hope this is true so bad~
and since Yamaoka said he's willing to do more SH OSTs if he's asked, I'm not too worried about music/sound.
btw, link doesn't work for me~

ANOTHER new developer? Silent Hill is becoming the village bike, no? EDIT kotaku.com/5513893/a-new-silent-hill-coming-from-a-brand-new-developerNew tidbit, it may revolve around Silent Hill 2 It could be a side story, it could be a remake like Shattered Memories For the love of GOD don't let it be a remake, SH2 is my favorite out of the series, make a new storyline, please? Its not that hard. PS Don't use non of that cult nonsense Thanks, Deus

Going over to Vatra could be a good thing, almost all the really innovative games are coming from eastern Europe these days
Void and the Penumbra series, to name a few

I hate these initial teases. All we really get from it is Second Hand assessments from a 20-30 second video. And if you look at the articles Joystiq and 1up have, they seem to describe different videos. Suppose wait and see untill E3 hits. Still haven't played shattered memories, damn Konami changing there local distributer.

We must find this trailer. Someone leaked it, certainly. This is the Internet, after all.

Sure as shit better not be a remake of SH2. That's just low.
But as I'm sure everyone agrees, much too early. I'm excited as hell for E3 though.

I'd really rather this not be an FPS...but if it is, and it's done well, like say Condemned did it, it could still be pretty good.

If it's an FPS, then it could be done with no damage done to the quality of the scenes, and the gameplay possibly being made better, especially from a combat point of view. The only big problem I would have would be in-game atmosphere, because making a game first-person doesn't necessarily make me more immersed. How can I be immersed in what a character is going through if I can't see the damn guy/girl?

I suppose it depends how they handle it. If its a Shooter, then Boo. If its a game where its just set in the first person perspective, then it could be alright. What will be interesting is to see where they take the combat, or if they keep shattered memories 'run for the hills' chase sequences. But largely, i'm not hopeful.

How can I be immersed in what a character is going through if I can't see the damn guy/girl? If you're experiencing the character's plight first hand I feel it lends a hand to immersion heavily. Case in point, Metroid Prime. Never did I feel more alone, and alienated in a Metroid game than in Metroid Prime. Only a few games have actually truly gotten this right though. The Metroid Prime series The Condemned series Breakdown
