... In my opinion HP films best to worst: 2, 1, 6, 5, 3, 7, 4. Just going to throw my opinion out there : 2, 3, 1, 4, 5, 7, 6. Saw Cars 2. Probably getting off to a bad start being the only Animated film in recent years i've gone to see at the cinema's and felt the need to take a kid along with me. There are some fantastic looking cities in this film, and i kinda dig how they adjust landmarks to have a slightly vehicle look to them, with grills and hubcaps. The story doesn't suit the world they've put it in. I think Pixar could have really done something interesting with this story, if they'ed pushed it with one of their other properties, or as a new series. It was a mistake basing the film around Mater. He works as a side kick for laughs, but the character isn't developed enough to be a main character. And to top it off, the whole thing feel's like its been done as a way to release new toys and playsets. Pixar are going to make a **** ton of money off of this, not because its a good movie, but because they can package a ton of little die cast Toys that are bright and bubbly and appeal to the 3 year olds. I might be a little annoyed that i got into the cinema late and missed the animated short before the film. But it struggles to be anything more then an average film. The kid i saw the film with didn't seem too impressed with it either. I expected him to be a lot more talkative about the film, but he was dead quiet. Then again, this all happened on tuesday, and i know someone else has already taken him to see it again. So maybe i was projecting on to him. Also finally watched Amélie. I got this as a present almost 2 years ago, hadn't bothered to take it out of the shrink rap. Really enjoyed it. So much has been said about the films charm, and it still surprised me. Its quirky, funny, colorful and surprising.

Robin Hood - That new Ridley Scott revival of the myth. It was alright, nothing special.
Also saw Black Death. It was surprisingly good; it posed some moral questions but evened out the philosophical debate with an equal amount of bloody violence.

Was it just me, or should that film have rolled credits at the story ending? (as opposed to the narrative ending)
The actual ending probably worked in the novel, but really seemed bolted on to the end of the film. Or it was just me

Rented Lost Season 6
Easily my least favorite season. I hated the end of season 5 and this entire season was based off it so didn't hope for much. Still, I only liked four episodes: the Ben, Richard, Desmond, and Hurley episodes. The rest were mostly very uninteresting or even stupid in my opinion. I do like the way the flash sideways' end up, but the trip there is very dull. The situation felt very hypothetical, something for a fanfiction, not the last season of a great TV show. Oh well. I have the first four seasons and the first two thirds of season five.
How I'd rate each season: 1: 8/10 2: 10/10 3: 6/10 4: 9/10 5: 8.5/10 6: 4.5/10

@ alx - I agree, the ending seemed oddly out of place and pretty rushed. It seemes as though it was just cut from a different film (like The Witchfinder General) and pasted on this one. @ dreggnog - I personally didn't care for how the series ended. The whole flash sideways storyline culminated with something completely unrelated to the rest of the series.

The Lost Boys: The Thirst: Infinitley better then The Tribe. And thankfully skipped that movie pretty much altogether. No sequel will ever equal the original movie but it was a damn fine attempt. I would give it 7/10

Marley & Me.
Oh. My. God.
I have not cried at a film in such a long, long time, and this one really hit the nail on the head emotionally. It could be considered a little saccarine for some tastes, but it was executed in such a way that I was left blubbing my eyes out by the end.
I can also relate to the characters efforts to train their un-trainable pet. Many a time I've screamed at my own dog when he refused to obey orders or continuously gotten in the way. I've told him I hate him, I wish I'd never gotten him and called him bad simply because I'm short tempered.
But, like the characters in this film, I'd be completely lost without him. He's loyal, he's always happy to see me come home and he always manages to cheer me up when I'm feeling blue. Marley and Me demonstrates that special bond between man and dog. The kind of friendship that most people would be hard pressed to find in human companions.
The ending is terribly sad, and I gave myself a headache trying desperately to prevent myself from crying, but it's also happy, in it's own bittersweet way.
In fact, after watching it, I went and gave my own dog a huge hug and told him I loved him. It made me realize that no matter how much of a pain he is. He's my pain, and I'm more than happy to put up with him.
To quote from the movie, "A dog has no use for fancy cars, big homes, or designer clothes. A water log stick will do just fine. A dog doesn't care if your rich or poor, clever or dull, smart or dumb. Give him your heart and he'll give you his. How many people can you say that about? How many people can make you feel rare and pure and special? How many people can make you feel extraordinary?"

Hellraiser: Hellseeker was on telli the other night and I was completely unprepared when I saw it playing since most horror titles are shown late weekend nights but, anyway, it's a great movie and it's a series I adore personally so no complaints there. A pretty good horror title over all it is so to the two people on planet Earth that like horror but have no idea what Hellraiser is ... just watch it.

Got my best friend to watch The Dark Knight. He isn't the biggest superhero fan, and he HATES Batman (the character), but when I told him that the film's focus was on the villins and certain parts of the movie he decided to watch it, and now considers it the standard for superhero movies to be set. I don't think I've created another Batman fan, but atleast another Dark Knight fan.

If your friend has only seen the Batman movies, that'd be why he isn't a Batman fan. The movies have NEVER portrayed the character anything like the comic books.

so i saw Tree of Life and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows pt 2 today.
Tree of life is a difficult one to describe and review. It doesn't feel so much like its trying to tell a story or convey a message as much as give a snap shot of something larger. the performances all around we're great, and there's some great shots and scenes. Wasn't too fond of the music in the film, it often seemed to over power the scene. It's the kind of film that is going to leave me thinking about it for awhile, and i'll look forward to seeing it again.
Deathly Hallows pt 2 i enjoyed more then i though i would. The first hour was pretty solid, but it went to **** once the war hit hogwarts for me. My favourite scenes from the book didn't appear or happen in the same order they did in the book. So I think that took away from my enjoyment. Still, its the best film Yates has directed for the series. I still think it was a mistake keeping him on for half the series. He's finally payed off.
So, the series complete, i'd rank them as 2, 3, 1, 4, 7pt2, 5, 7pt1, 6

The last movie I saw was one I'd watched before, but, really, how can one watch The Mystery Men only once?

I've been watching the new and way improved Battlestar Galactica like a madman lately. Way, way better acting and writing than I could have hoped for. Plus I found this little guy: Also just got into Six Feet Under which is much funnier than I anticipated.

I guess no one's watched anything. Well, I just saw The Fountain, which like most of Aronofsky's films I found to be pretty good but not great.
I also saw the french horror film Inside, a well acted, considerably gory horror.

^ i love the fountain, couldn't say how many times i've watched it. I've got a good chunk of the soundtrack in a playlist on my ipod. Last few week's i've seen a couple of films, just stick to the ones at cinemas. Kung Fu Panda 2 i really enjoyed, more so then the first one. there wasn't a heap of character development there, it was mainly Po and Shen who got any sort of development, the rest of the cast are really only supporting players any way. Same nice variety in the animation. Hanna had a pretty neat soundtrack, but the rest of the film was a mix bag. The story wasn't exactly great, and the characters where nothing special. I feel like there should have been more to it. Captain America: The First Avenger. Fun brainless action, and being a largely period piece i kinda dig the costumes from that time. Again, 3 for 3 on character development, but this had a larger supporting cast, and they all had their place. As a superhero film, its almost a given there will be a sequel, and if there is, i really want to see more of these other characters.
