The more I read about this the more Guy comes off as an arsehole. It's so confusing. I have no idea who I really believe or where my faith lies. In fact, I have no concept of residuals. I haven't a clue what they are, or how they work. well, i feel like troy baker is almost certainly right about the residuals not existing, but he comes off as arseholish with the whole "blame it on guy cihi!" thing. I think he could've said it a bit more subtly and would seem less unprofessional. As for Guy, I feel like we aren't getting the whole story. Something seems fishy somewhere. I don't know. I like Guy though. Even if he's totally wrong. As for what the real issue with the voices is, Mary Elizabeth MCGlynn has confirmed that it is all about Guy Cihi wanting royalties. Mike from Silent Haven talked to her about it, he reads the email on the next one of my podcasts (won't be up til this weekend, though, needs edited). She says she knows there will be controversy, but hopes the fans will like this version, too.

Guy comes off as a bit of an arsehole, that's true. Not a giant one, but a bit of one. It's just something about his wording used.

Meh, I thought he sounded a bit of an arsehole when this all started, and it drove me nuts that alot of the fans started damning Konami for the choice of changing the voices. Perhaps they are still at fault, but I hate how many people jumped to the conclusion that Konami are being dicks not wanting to pay the orginal actors and "Still Ruining the franchise" based on a trickle of information
I don't live in this world that some fans have made for themselves where team silent and everyone working for them were gods among men and Konami or anyone else who touches the franchise are sin incarnate

I like Guy, and I wanted to root for him, but the facts seem to suggest he's completely wrong. Troy Baker talks more about Guy Cihi here (it is a short audio interview): www.relyonhorror.com/in-depth/podcast-interview-a-chat-with-troy-baker/and he says he actually tried to contact Guy himself, and Guy didn't respond to him. There's some information from Mary Elizabeth McGlynn in my newest podcast, here; alchemillahospital.net/alchemilla-radio-podcast-22/I had Mike from Silent Haven on with me, and he's been talking to Mary Elizabeth and he reads part of an email about the HD Collection. In other news, this box art is up on amazon now:

It's pretty, but I kind of don't feel like it says "Silent Hill" to me.

To me it looks way more creepy than pretty, so I guess to me it fits Silent Hill a little better.

Wow, that seems like a lot of trouble to go through to just not have to pay someone what they are owed. If they were really mocaping and voice recording again, it seems like that could end up expensive. Then again I have no idea what Guy would be paid if they made good on their contract.
In any event, it will be interesting to see what happens with this. Anytime I've had a hankering to visit SH2 again, I've just booted it up on my comp. Graphics look ok to me. And the sound still kicks ass.

At least they put a character important to the central conflict of the story on the cover this time round, never did understand how Angela was so important that she was placed on the orginal.

Hmm...I do think the covert looks nice. Maybe a little too overtly sexual for a SH cover. Or am I just a hopeless pervert? I mean it looks a little more "in the throws of ecstasy", instead of loathing or like pain or depression or something a little more SH-ish. I do realize there are sexual undertones in SH, but I think this cover may be playing that up to an extent that is not existent in the games.

I absolutely love that cover art. While I'm pretty sure it's Maria but it kinda looks like Heather with Maria's necklace or somethin. Works for me!
Though, to me, she looks looks more in pain or in sorrow rather than in ecstasy. Though it does look a little masochistic. Like she's enjoying it in a way.
I guess the cover kind've encompasses all those feelings, which is very Silent Hill as far as I'm concerned.

Hmmm, I can see that I guess. She is crying. I'd be more ok with it if it was indeed Maria, as that fits her character more. I mean it's her necklace, so I guess it must be, but she definitely looks younger like Heather in this pic.
Interesting way to go with it anyway, and it could have been much worse.
